🔼 Get Ready for the Elly Jelly. The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team heads to Brooklyn, New York, TODAY (Wednesday, March 20) for the 2024 NCAA Tournament. As the No. 8 seed, FAU will take on Northwestern on Friday, Mar. 22, for the Round of 64 at 12:15pm ET, airing nationally on CBS. 
 
Fans are encouraged to attend the team send-off outside the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena beginning at 12:45pm ET today. The Elly has been one of the best home court advantages in the nation in the past two seasons, where the Owls have gone 30-1, tied for the second-best home record in NCAA Division I. 

🔼 Strutting Their Stuff. Florida Atlantic's second practice in full pads was followed by "Pro Day" 2024. Tuesday's practice again focused on ball security and tackling as well as seven-on-seven and team.
 
Once practice was complete, attention turned to former Owls who participated in Pro Day 2024. Nearly a dozen former FAU football players participated in weights and measurements as well as the on-field drills. The workouts were held before 29 scouts representing 27 NFL teams and one CFL team were on hand.

🔼 Ain’t This Grand? For the second time this season, Florida Atlantic senior second baseman Christian Adams has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Adams played a major part in the Owls' 4-0 week, posting a 6-for-14 line (.429) with one home run and seven RBI. In Saturday's dramatic comeback victory over Maine, he delivered a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning, helping the Owls to their second weekend sweep of the season.

🔼 Holding Down the Fort. The No. 16 Florida Atlantic Beach Volleyball team (10-7, 2-2 CUSA) heads to Fort Myers, Florida, today as they compete in a pair of midweek duals.

The Sandy Owls will kick off the day with their first of two at 2pm ET against Palm Beach Atlantic, closing out the day at 4pm ET against host FGCU. The Sandy Owls hold a perfect 5-0 record all-time against PBA, which includes a 5-0 sweep of the Sailfish this past weekend during Florida Atlantic's Beach Invitational. Florida Atlantic also holds a 14-4 all-time lead against FGCU.

🔼 Miami Heat, Indeed. The Florida Atlantic softball team picked up a 6-0 victory over FIU on Wednesday night in Miami. The win is the Owls' fifth in the last six outings. They are 3-0 versus in-state foe and 24-7 overall.
 
The drubbing included freshman shortstop Kiley Channell going 4-for-4 with a double, her 12th of the season, and three RBI. Graduate pitcher Trinity Schlotterbeck drew the start, allowing just one hit after the third and a total of five in the game in her seven-inning shutout performance. Schlotterbeck moved to 11-2 on the year and recorded her third shutout of 2024.

🔼 Doubling Down. Florida Atlantic women's tennis team, ranked No. 55 nationally, fell to Boston University by a 4-3 decision on Sunday.
 
The Owls will next play two matches at VCU versus Memphis and host VCU on Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24.

🔼 Temporary Skid. Florida Atlantic baseball's five-game win streak came to a close on Tuesday night with a 3-2 defeat to UCF. The Owls return home to begin conference play Friday against Charlotte. First pitch is 6:30pm ET.

"It was a really good college baseball game,” said head coach John McCormack. “I thought we accorded ourselves well. But there were two mistakes made in the game and they were both by us. And we have to be better offensively.”
