Good Morning, Owl Nation. Florida Atlantic graduate senior goalkeeper Nacho Alfaro has been named the AAC's Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Forward Mamadou Diarra and defender Callum Frogson each earned a nod to the Weekly Honorable Mention list.

🔼 Duly Noted. Florida Atlantic football will travel to East Hartford, Connecticut, this week, where the Owls will face the University of Connecticut at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

On offense, the Owls are led by QB Cam Fancher, who has completed 51 of his 88 passes on the year for 450 yards and two touchdowns. Fancher, a multi-threat quarterback, also leads the team in yards gained but is second in net yards behind Zuberi Mobley, who has carried the ball 33 times for a team-leading 178 net yards.

Defensively, the Owls are led by Maryland native Jackson Ambush. The linebacker has 21 total tackles, has added a tackle for a loss assist, and has a pass breakup.

🔼 Soft Launch. Florida Atlantic's softball team has announced its 2024 fall schedule, beginning on Saturday, Oct. 26.
 
The Owls will play in eight contests, kicking off with a doubleheader against Keiser and Indian River in Fort Pierce, Florida. After taking on Lynn on Wednesday, Oct. 30, FAU will play host to FIU and St. Johns Rivers on Saturday, Nov. 2. Also scheduled are 10-inning games against Nova on Sunday, Nov. 3, Barry on Wednesday, Nov. 6, and Eastern Florida on Friday, Nov. 8.
 
Florida Atlantic is the defending American Athletic Conference regular-season champion after a 41-win 2024 season and returns the reigning AAC Rookie of the Year in Kiley Channell.

🔼 Paradise Ponderings. There’s a big home conference matchup tomorrow for FAU Women’s Soccer. The Owls Paradise Classic begins on Friday for Florida Atlantic Volleyball. It’s a busy week in Paradise!

🔼 On With the Show. The Florida Atlantic Coaches Show, presented by Duffy's Sports Grill, returns TODAY from 12-1 p.m. at the Duffy's Sports Grill Boca Raton.

Hagerty Family Head Coach Tom Herman is the featured guest throughout the fall, joined this week by Wide Receivers Coach David Beaty and host and voice of the Owls Ken LaVicka. Herman will look back at the Owls' Shula Bowl win over FIU and preview FAU's next matchup versus Connecticut.

Florida Atlantic is coming off a 38-20 victory over FIU, improving its Shula Bowl record to 17-4. The game's acclaimed trophy, which has belonged to the Owls for the last eight years, will be on display at Duffy's for fans to see throughout the show.
