Good Morning, Owl Nation. Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books, with seven former Florida Atlantic Owls seeing action.
 
#43 Matthew Hayball | P | New Orleans Saints 
- Hayball saw the field to punt four times, including a booming 52-yarder. The Philadelphia Eagles took down the Saints in a tight 15-12 battle.

#36 Greg Joseph | K | New York Giants
- Making his Giants debut, Joseph nailed all three of his extra point attempts, one coming after a score from his fellow Owl teammate. The New York Giants picked up their first victory of the season, 21-15, over the Cleveland Browns.

🔼 For All the Marbles. The American Athletic Conference announced the 2024-25 schedules for women's basketball on Thursday afternoon. The Florida Atlantic women's basketball team will compete in an 18-game conference slate, highlighted by nine home games inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
 
The Owls will tip off their second season in the AAC on Sunday, Dec. 29, with a road matchup against East Carolina. Florida Atlantic will open the new year at home, hosting Charlotte on Wednesday, Jan. 1, and UAB on Saturday, Jan. 4 at the Elly. 

The 2025 American Athletic Conference Tournament will be March 8-12 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

🔼 WHOOPDI DOO. The American Athletic Conference announced the conference schedule for the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team for the 2024-25 campaign on Thursday afternoon, with tipoff times to be announced later.

Florida Atlantic enters its second season in the AAC after making an appearance in the semifinals of the conference tournament and being one of the two teams representing the conference in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. This year, they will be led by incoming Head Coach John Jakus and his staff, with 11 new faces on the roster.

🔼 Soccer Standoff. Florida Atlantic's women's soccer team finished their Thursday evening match in Paradise in a 0-0 draw against the South Florida Bulls.

The Owls' tie versus USF improves their overall record this season to 2-5-3 and 1-1-1 in conference play. This marked the first time these two teams faced each other since the 2023 AAC Conference Tournament when Florida Atlantic knocked out the Bulls to advance to the semifinals. 

🔼 Pancakes in Paradise. Florida Atlantic volleyball kicks off American Athletic Conference play this weekend as they host the East Carolina Pirates and the Charlotte 49ers today, Friday, Sept. 27, and tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 29.

First serve on Friday against East Carolina is set for 6 p.m. ET, while the Owls will close out the weekend on Sunday at 4 p.m. against Charlotte.

🔼 Hashing it Out on the Hardwood. Florida Atlantic's men's basketball team hit the courts on Thursday for their first official practice ahead of the 2024-25 season.
 
The new-look Owls and first-year Head Coach John Jakus began the marathon of their upcoming season with a three-hour session emphasizing intensity and physicality as the team looks to build chemistry on the court.
 
FAU will have two exhibition opportunities before the start of the regular season on Nov. 4. The first is a neutral-site matchup in Xenia, Ohio, against Indiana State. The Owls will host St. Leo on Oct. 26 and travel to Auburn on Nov. 1.

"I thought there were moments of brilliance and moments where we had to work on some things, but that is what the first day is about,” said Coach Jakus.

🔼 Owl Meetcha There. Episode seven of Inside the Owls' Burrow airs this week on Bally Sports Florida on Friday, Sept. 27, at 3:30 p.m. ET and Saturday, Sept. 28, at 11:30 a.m.

This week, head football coach Tom Herman will review the UConn contest and preview the Owls' upcoming game versus Wagner. This week's "Pads Off" segment features senior guard Andre Lamas with FAU captain, teammate, and roommate Federico Maranges. In the "Football in Paradise" segment, Forte will explore the personal stories with a spotlight on defensive back Wendol Philord, and in "Where Are They Now?" Forte catches up with former Owl fullback Aaron Sanchez, now a federal agent in the Department of Homeland Security.
