Paradise Brew 9/20: Football But Make It Art
Enjoy the cinematic recap of last week's dominant Shula Bowl win
Good Morning, Owl Nation. Boosted by 134 yards rushing, three touchdowns from Zuberi Mobley, and five turnovers by the defense, Florida Atlantic rolled past FIU Saturday night, 38-20, to win the Shula Bowl for a seventh consecutive time.
The Owls amassed 420 yards of offense, with all five touchdowns on the ground. Mobley scored FAU's first three touchdowns on the night, including an electrifying 72-yard TD run on 4th-and-1 in the second quarter to give his team a 14-7 lead.

🔼 Time to Lower the Boom. Florida Atlantic Athletics has teamed up with Boca Raton residents and social media superstars AJ & Big Justice for "AJ & Big Justice Night" on Saturday, Sept. 28, when the football team hosts Wagner at FAU Stadium at 6 p.m.
The father-and-son duo "boomed" to fame with their massive social media following by engaging fans of all ages with their food critiques and other entertaining antics. They are scheduled to participate in various activities throughout the night at FAU.

🔼 Ride the FAU Time Machine. Inside the Owls' Burrow has entered its ninth season. The show originates on Bally Sports Florida but can be viewed on fausports.com and YouTube. Episode six airs on Bally Sports Florida today at 3:30 p.m. ET and Saturday, Sept. 21, at 11:30 a.m.
This week, Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Tom Herman will discuss the Owls' Shula Bowl victory over FIU and preview the upcoming road game at UConn. Fans can then re-live all the best moments of the win over FIU with cinematic highlights. This week's "Pads Off" segment features center Federico Maranges with teammate and roommate Andre Lamas posing the questions. In the "Football in Paradise" segment, Forte will explore the personal stories of WR Milan Tucker and his father, former major league baseball player Michael Tucker.

🔼 Sneak Peek. The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team and Head Coach John Jakus invited the students to watch practice on Tuesday afternoon.
Students caught a glimpse of the 2024-25 roster and saw some familiar faces and lots of new faces. At the end of practice, Coach Jakus addressed the student section and expressed their importance in packing the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena in the upcoming season.
🔼 Making Waves Once Again. The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams are back in action for the 2024-25 season.
The Owls will head to Fort Pierce for their first meet to take on Indian River. FAU last traveled to face them on the road to kick off their 2022-23 campaign.
The Owls had a successful 2023-24 campaign that saw a sweep in their midseason Patriot Invitational and 12 school records set throughout the season. The conference championships resulted in the men winning seven medals and capturing third place in their first ASUN appearance, while the women took fifth place with five medals.
🔼 Playing Host in Paradise. The Florida Atlantic Owls return home this weekend to close out their non-conference schedule, hosting the Owls Paradise Classic on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 20-21.
Florida Atlantic (5-4 AAC) opens the weekend on Friday, Sept. 20, at 12 p.m. ET against Illinois State (3-7 MVC) before taking on Mercer (9-1 SOCON) at 7 p.m. Friday for the Owls' Alumni Game. The Owls will wrap up the weekend on Saturday at 1 p.m. against the Stetson Hatters (3-5 ASUN).

"Motor" is already making his mark as the New York Giants lead back, recording his first touchdown of the season in week two. There was more to come for Singletary on the afternoon, going for 95 yards on 16 carries with long runs of 22 and 18 yards.
