🔼 Not Just a Win, But a WIN Win. Florida Atlantic men's golf (-26) opened its fall season with a commanding nine-shot victory at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Clemson and Florida Gulf Coast were the closest competition in the 16-team field, each finishing at -17. This is the program's fourth team victory in three seasons under Head Coach Adrien Mork.

Quick Hits:

  • Biagio Gagliardi signed for a 66 in Monday's second round and bettered that by a shot in the finale on Tuesday. His bogey-free 65 (-7) moved him up six places into solo second.

  • NaShawn Tyson tied for third after a final round 70 that included five birdies.

  • Freshman Louka Morin climbed 18 spots into a tie for 28th after a final round 69 (-3). Morin made two birdies on the front nine and added an eagle on the par-five 13th hole on the back.

🔼 Anyone Need Clean Sheets? No. 19 Florida Atlantic men's soccer improved to 4-1 with a 4-0 win over Florida National at the FAU Soccer Stadium on Tuesday morning.

The Owls got off to a fast start. An FNU handball in the box in the eighth minute resulted in a PK goal from Sebastian ZettlMamadou Diarra doubled the lead with his third goal of the season 12 minutes later. Diarra added another goal in the 19th minute.  Eli Conway and Olliver Moller-Jensen were involved again five minutes into the second half on a goal scored by Ethan Schumaker. Moller-Jensen finished the day with three assists.

🔼 Burrow Goes Big. The next episode of Inside the Owls' Burrow's 2025 football season will air tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 11) at 10 a.m. ET, where it originates each week throughout the fall on FanDuel Sports Network Florida. It will re-air Saturday, Sept. 13, at 11:30 a.m. and before Shula Bowl XXIII.

The weekly show's fifth installment will feature Forte talking one-on-one with first-year Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley about his first win, a 56-14 victory over FAMU. Senior captain and guard Alex Atcavage is featured in "Pads Off," while fellow captain and wide receiver Easton Messer is "Wired for Sound."

📣 This isn’t the only show in town! Find out who’s going to be featured on tomorrow night’s Coaches Show at Duffy’s in Boca Raton!

🔼 Owls Are a Shu-In. The Florida Atlantic football team was a little lighter in its step after delivering Hagerty Family Head Coach Zach Kittley his first win with a 56-14 victory over Florida A&M, last Saturday. On Tuesday, however, the Owls had their game faces on, preparing for their next challenge: Florida International and Shula Bowl XXIII, slated for this Saturday, at 6 p.m. ET and airing on ESPN+.

With the two teams meeting annually at alternating sites, FAU will head to FIU's home field in 2025, having captured the trophy with a convincing 38-20 victory in Boca Raton in 2024. The last time these two programs met, with each boasting a first-year head coach, was in 2017. Since then, the Owls have won all seven matchups against the Panthers, averaging 46.2 points and giving up an average of 16.

🔼 It’s So On For Non-Con. Head Coach LeAnn Freeland and the Florida Atlantic women's basketball team have announced the non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

The Owls will compete in 12 non-conference contests, highlighted by six home games, including the Owls' Thanksgiving Classic, and a pair of Power 4 matchups against Florida and Miami.

FAU will tip off the 2025-26 season in Paradise, hosting Florida Memorial on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Elly, marking the 22nd all-time meeting between the Owls and the Lions.

🤓 Calling All the Right Signals. With this weekend’s Shula Bowl game on the horizon, today’s trivia looks back to 2022, when FAU dominated FIU in a 52-7 victory. What Owl QB threw four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing)?

Please Press “Rewind.” The only thing that’s better than the first win of the football season is reliving it.
