Good Morning, FAU Fam. The defending American Conference champions are ready to run it back! Florida Atlantic men's soccer released its 15-game 2026 schedule, opening Aug. 20 at Mercer before the home opener Aug. 23, a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament First Round against UCF.

Head Coach Joey Worthen enters his 10th season at the helm after leading the Owls to a 12-4-2 record and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament trip. Nine returners are back, led by senior goalkeeper Alfred Mikkelsen and midfielder Felipe Santos, and all home matches at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission!

🔼 Welcome to Paradise. Reaction is pouring in from Boca Raton and beyond; see what Josh McCowan, fellow ADs, and the sports world are saying about his hiring as FAU's new vice president and director of athletics.

🔼 Golden Owl. Incoming Florida Atlantic freshman guard Felipe Quinones is bringing home gold! The 6-foot-5 point guard starred for Puerto Rico at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games, pouring in a team-high 25 points with a game-high nine assists in the championship win over the Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico went a perfect 5-0 while outscoring opponents by 200 points, with Quinones leading the team at 14.0 points per game and dishing 30 assists against just nine turnovers. He'll join the Owls in Boca Raton ahead of the 2026-27 season!

🔼 Keep Watch. Florida Atlantic quarterback Caden Veltkamp is on the national radar! The fifth-year signal-caller was named to the 2026 Maxwell Award preseason watch list after leading one of the top passing attacks in the country in 2025. Veltkamp ranked No. 1 nationally in completions per game while powering the Owls to the No. 1 passing offense in the nation at 340.2 yards per contest.

CJ Doggette Jr. is also racking up the preseason recognition! The fifth-year defensive lineman landed on both the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, honoring college football's best defensive player, and the Outland Trophy Watch List for the nation's top interior lineman. Doggette Jr. earned all-conference honors in 2025 after leading the Owls with four sacks and seven tackles for loss.

🔼 Academic Ace. Florida Atlantic men’s golf junior Jack Brugman has been named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America! The South Africa native competed in seven events for the Owls this past season, recording an adjusted scoring average of 75.5 and 31 birdies across 17 rounds. Brugman was one of just 16 recipients representing the American Conference among the 626 Division I men's golfers honored nationwide!
