Good Morning, FAU Family. The Florida Atlantic men's basketball matchups are set for the 2025 Sunshine Slam, which will take place on November 24-25 at Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.

As part of the Beach Bracket, Owls will take on the Lions of Loyola Marymount on Monday, Nov. 24, at 8:30 p.m. EST, airing on CBS Sports Network. The format for the tournament will consist of a pair of semifinal round games in each bracket on the first day, followed by a championship and consolation game in each bracket on November 25. A champion will be crowned for both the beach and ocean brackets. Both FAU games will air on CBS Sports Network.

We’re counting down the days to the return of Florida Atlantic football on August 30 at Maryland! In honor of today’s countdown, we take a look back at the Florida Atlantic football team’s final game of the 2024 season. The Owls took down Tulsa by a score of 63-16. Their ground game outgained Tulsa’s 371-64, and their 8.6 yards per carry is the second most in a single game in program history.

🔼 She Walks the Walk. Florida Atlantic Head Women's Golf Coach Heather Bowie Young will compete in her first U.S. Senior Women's Open beginning Thursday, Aug. 21, at San Diego CC in Chula Vista, California. She qualified for the championship via a Top 10 finish at the 2025 LPGA Legends Championship in May.

After playing a key part on two National Championship teams at the University of Texas, Bowie Young played 14 seasons on the LPGA Tour. Bowie Young took the helm of FAU women's golf in 2021.  This will be her 19th appearance in a USGA Championship.

🔼 Burrow’s Back, Baby. Florida Atlantic football celebrates its 25th season while FAU Athletics hits another milestone with Inside the Owls' Burrow beginning its 10th season, showcasing all things FAU Athletics on FanDuel Sports Network Florida. This week's episode airs tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 23, at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Host Frank Forte will sit down with Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley and Defensive Coordinator Brett Dewhurst. Redshirt junior LB Tyler Stolsky is mic'd up at practice, and the Luman twins [Tycoolhill and Tyclean] will try their hand at the "match game." How well do they really know each other?

🔼 The Dry Run. "Mock Game Week" continued for Florida Atlantic football, with the Owls moving through game scenarios and working with the scout teams for the second time.

As the team continues its effort to establish its identity, the neck-and-neck battle between offense and defense continues, with neither getting the best of the other consistently.

🔼 Next Up: Panthers On the Pitch. The Florida Atlantic women's soccer team fell to Miami on Thursday evening by a score of 4-0.

Sophomore keeper Ashley Small finished the night playing a total of 68 minutes, registering two saves on the night to improve her season total to 15 on the year thus far. Freshman Keira Pabalan recorded 44 minutes for her freshman debut.

FAU will return down south to face the Panthers of FIU on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Who Doesn’t Love Clean Sheets? The Florida Atlantic men's soccer team started its 2025 campaign with a dominant 3-0 victory over Creighton on Thursday night at the FAU Soccer Stadium. The Owls scored twice in the opening frame, added an insurance marker early in the second half, and relied on newcomer goalkeeper Alfred Mikkelsen to preserve the clean sheet. In his FAU debut, Mikkelsen made six saves in goal to record the clean sheet.

It took just nine minutes for American Conference Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Mamadou Diarra to open his 2025 account. Off a feed from Aboubacar Traore, Diarra's shot from well outside the box took a deflection off a Creighton defender and trickled past the Blue Jays' goalkeeper.

Florida Atlantic University's men's basketball team first appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2002 after winning the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament. The Owls defeated Georgia State in the nail-biter of a championship game, 76-75, to secure their spot.
