We’re counting down the days to the return of Florida Atlantic football on August 30 at Maryland! FAU Stadium, often nicknamed "The Burrow" and now the Flagler Credit Union Stadium, officially opened in 2011. Its inaugural game took place on Oct. 15, 2011, when the Owls football team hosted Western Kentucky. While the stadium opened in 2011, the 2012 season marked its first full year of use.

🔼 Under the Weather. The Florida Atlantic women's soccer team fell short to UCF by a score of 3-1 in its first road contest of the 2025 season on Sunday evening.

The 26th meeting in program history between the Owls (0-1-1) and the Knights (2-0-0) was delayed three hours due to weather, with the match finally kicking off at 9:15 p.m. In the first 20 minutes, the sheet remained clean thanks to great defense displayed by the Owls. In the first half, goalkeeper Ashley Small registered six saves to record a new career high in her fifth start of her career. The sophomore finished the night with nine saves.

The Answer: 1987!

The women’s volleyball program was established in the 1987–88 season and has remained active at the NCAA Division I level ever since. Head Coach Fernanda Nelson, who has led the program since 2012, has helped the program take tremendous strides. This includes the squad’s first-ever appearance in the AAC Tournament championship since the program’s inception in 2024.
