🔼 Preseason Honors. The reigning champs are loaded with preseason recognition! Florida Atlantic men’s soccer senior goalkeeper Alfred Mikkelsen was named American Conference Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year after tying the single-season program record with six clean sheets while backstopping the Owls to both the Regular Season and Tournament titles in 2025.

Defender David Roberts and midfielder Felipe Santos joined him on the Preseason All-Conference team, and the Owls were picked second in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The title defense begins tomorrow at Mercer before the home opener against UCF on Sunday, Aug. 23!

🔼 Keep Watch. The American Conference has its eyes on five Owls ahead of a new season!

🔼 Doak Watch. A new Owl is drawing national attention! Fifth-year running back Leonard Farrow was named a candidate for the Doak Walker Award, presented annually to the nation's best running back. Farrow arrives in Boca Raton after a monster 2025 season at Fairmont State, where he rushed for 1,438 yards on 8.1 yards per carry with 12 touchdowns.

🔼 Course Charted. Florida Atlantic men's golf has its 2026-27 path mapped out! The Owls will compete in 10 events, opening Sept. 6 at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate, where they're the defending champions after a nine-shot victory to open last fall. FAU will also host the third annual Florida Atlantic Invitational at the prestigious Bear's Club in Jupiter on Sept. 21-22. The spring features six events across four states, all building toward the American Conference Championship in Bradenton next April.

🔼 Behind the Jersey. Today’s Behind the Jersey segment features Braeden Speed, a junior guard from Phoenix, Ariz. Speed started all 32 games for LMU-Maryland as a sophomore, where he led the Greyhounds in scoring at 15.3 points per game in 32.7 minutes. Speed shot 44.5 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from beyond the arc, while sinking 82.2 percent of his free throws last season.

Owl fans, mark your calendars! The second annual Duffy's Sports Grill Fan Fest takes over Flagler Credit Union Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 22, and the free event has something for everyone. The Publix Paradise Plaza opens at 5 p.m. with a concert from the Mixtape Kids, a 90s tribute band, plus games, inflatables, giveaways, and student-athlete autograph sessions. Inside, catch performances from the FAU Marching Band, autographs with the football team on the Hyundai Deck, and a spectacular lighted drone show just after sunset to cap the night!
