Fan Fest, featuring an open-to-the-public football practice, is set for August 10

Good Morning, Owl Nation. Join the Florida Atlantic Owls at the 2024 Duffy's Sports Grill Fan Fest, scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at FAU Stadium.
 
The football team will hold an open-to-the-public practice. Fans are encouraged to enjoy the shade of the Delray Hyundai Deck while participating in giveaways, games, contests, and much more, including the opportunity to meet FAU student-athletes from other teams.
 
The event will be a great opportunity to renew or purchase tickets and merchandise. Concessions will be available on the Deck.

🔼 Playing the Long Game. Nicholas Marino, a sixth-year senior long snapper at Florida Atlantic, was announced as one of 30 collegiate players nationally named to The Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List.
 
Marino came to the Owls in the fall of 2019 from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and became Florida Atlantic's starting long snapper in the fall of 2020, a role he has served for 45 consecutive games. Marino has 11 career tackles and handles both the punt, extra point, and field goal-snapping duties.
 
This year's recognition will be the sixth Patrick Mannelly Award issued to the country's best long snapper. The award's ten finalists will be announced on November 11, 2024. A list of three semifinalists will be announced on November 25, 2024, and the winner will be selected on December 14, 2024.

🔼 Court is in Session. Florida Atlantic women's tennis continues to excel, with three team members earning ITA All-Academic Team honors. The team also received the All-Academic Team honors, announced by the ITA this week.
 
Historically, the Owls have been a strong team academically, and they have continued to show their academic prowess with a team cumulative GPA above 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
 
Team members who received individual honors were Lexi Silna, Millie-Mae Matthews, and Victoria Gomez O'Hayon. All three will return to the Owls for the 2024-25 season.
