Good Morning, FAU Family. Florida Atlantic's Director of Tennis, Ricardo Gonzalez, has been named captain of the Puerto Rico National Tennis Team for the upcoming Davis Cup, beginning June 9.

Gonzalez and five teammates will compete in the Americas Group III 9 at the Costa Rica Country Club. The two pools of four teams will crown a pool winner who will automatically be promoted to the World Group II playoffs, to be held in 2026.

Since his elevation to men’s tennis head coach in 2012-13, Gonzalez has tallied a 177-128 record and has led the men's squad to an ITA national ranking in their last seven full seasons.

🔼 D1 × 3 = Success. ICYMI! Kiley Shelton, a sophomore on Florida Atlantic's softball team, stepped up to the plate and rose to the occasion at the Gainesville Regional. 

The sophomore from Lexington, South Carolina delivered multiple clutch hits, including the walk-off RBI single in extra innings against Georgia Tech, to give the No. 2-seeded Owls (45-12) their first victory in an NCAA Regional game since 2016. 

Her heroic performance came on the very same campus where brother, Colby, currently is the starting shortstop for the nationally ranked Florida Gators baseball team. Rounding out the Shelton siblings is their sister, Karley—a power hitter on the South Carolina softball team.
