🔼 Lucky 13. After winning its second straight American Athletic Conference regular season title and ahead of the conference tournament, the No. 1 seed FAU softball team received 13 postseason honors from the AAC, announced on Tuesday.
The Owls (44-9, 23-4) rolled through league play in their second year as a member of The American with the most conference wins in league history. They won eight of nine conference series, swept six opponents, and recorded seven run-rule victories. The squad also went a perfect 12-0 on the road.
🏆 : THE HONOREES
The Owls also cleaned up in the last of the AAC weekly honors. Following her historic perfect game, junior pitcher Jaden Martinez of the No. 24 Florida Atlantic softball team was named AAC Pitcher of the Week. Additionally, sophomore Kiley Shelton received an honorable mention for her performance at the plate in a weekend that saw the Owls (44-9, 23-4) conclude the regular season as conference champions for the second straight year.

🔼 Let’s Hit ‘Em in the Numbers. FAU Athletics continued to achieve high Academic Progress Rate (APR) numbers in the 2023-24 academic year. APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or academic term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport.
Three teams achieved a perfect score of 1,000: women's cross country, women's golf and volleyball. This marks the fourth consecutive academic year in which these three reached the maximum score.

🔼 In the Nick of Time. FAU baseball third baseman Nick Romano has been named an AAC weekly honorable mention—his first weekly conference honor.
Romano played a key role in the Owls' 3-1 week, racking up multiple hits in three of the four games. He also had at least one RBI in all four games. The redshirt junior's biggest hit of the week was a second-inning grand slam on Friday against Tulane that spurred the Owls to an eventual 16-12 victory.
