Paradise Brew 5/30: Out of Our Gourd For Autumn
Autumn Courtney of the Florida Atlantic softball team has been named the fifth All American in program history.
Good Morning, FAU Family. Autumn Courtney of the Florida Atlantic softball team has been named the fifth All American in program history. The junior pitcher was selected to the NFCA All-American Third Team.
Courtney adds the accolade to one of the most impressive seasons in Owls history (45-12) on both an individual and team basis. After being named to the NFCA Gulf All-Region First Team, she led Florida Atlantic to its first NCAA Regional victory since 2016, her 24th win of the season.
Outfielder Bella Foran has also been honored as a Second Team Freshman All-American. Foran ended the season as an All-AAC Second Team member as well as the All-Conference Freshman Team and was named to the NFCA Top 25 Freshman Watch List in April.

🦉 And much, much more

🏀 : CHECK IT OUT

🔼 We Added Moors. Florida Atlantic head WBB coach LeAnn Freeland has announced the addition of graduate transfer Jessica Moors from Nova Southeastern. Moors joins the Owls as a graduate student after opening her collegiate career at Colorado State and playing the last two seasons at Nova Southeastern under Coach Freeland.
At Nova Southeastern, Moors made 61 appearances and 38 starts during her two seasons with the Sharks. During her redshirt junior season, Moors led the Sharks in blocks with 24 and ranked second on the team in steals, collecting 58 and averaging 1.7 steals per game, as well as scoring 6.5 points per game and tallying 3.8 rebounds per contest.

🔼 More HERstory in the Making. The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team tallied numerous firsts in a record-breaking season that concluded with a No. 27 team rank and a No. 55 ranking by the doubles team of Lara Smejkal and Malwina Rowinska. This is the highest rank in program history and marks the second consecutive season to end the year among the nation's elite, an accomplishment matched only three times prior, and the first time in back-to-back years under the direction of Ricardo Gonzalez.
The Owls were the only team in the nation to complete the regular season undefeated and ran that total to 16-0 before falling in the semifinal of the AAC Championship. The squad earned the invite to the NCAA Tournament, the first FAU women's tennis team to do so since 2005. The Owls defeated former conference foe Old Dominion in the first round but fell to the No. 8 seed and NCAA Tournament host Duke in the following round.

🔼 Endless Potential in Paradise. A young Florida Atlantic men's tennis team continued the standard set and maintained throughout the 2025 season ending the campaign ranked 58 in the ITA's final poll. Senior John Bernard ended his final collegiate season individually ranked at No. 119.
The Owls have ended each of their last seven full seasons with a national ranking, the highest being No. 45 in 2023-24. FAU lost both Bernard and graduate student Jiri Jenicek but anticipate the return of seven underclassmen.

🔼 Aaaaand Scene. Another season of Mac’s Musings wraps up with a recap of the 2025 campaign and a look ahead to the 45th season of Florida Atlantic baseball. We talk superlatives, 2026 schedule nuggets, the upcoming draft, and summer plans.

The Answer: Zero!
It was the first time in FAU women’s tennis program history that every singles court was held by a player who tallied double-digit wins. Malina Rowinska led the way with a 16-4 record and a 15-1 record in dual match play. Senior Lexi Silna ended her final dual match season with a 12-2 mark, while fellow senior Milli-Mae Matthews concluded her fourth year as an Owl with a 10-3 mark.
