This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and reflect on those who have served our country and allowed us to have the freedoms we enjoy each and every day.

🔼 Until Next Season. Florida Atlantic baseball finished the 2025 season with a record of 37-21 after a 6-3 defeat to No. 1 seeded-UTSA on Friday in the AAC Tournament.

"I'm proud of our guys. I thought we had a really nice year, fought through plenty of adversity. Coming into today, we had good energy, good at-bats. We just couldn't get that extra hit, and when they had opportunities, they capitalized on them … That's why they're the number one seed. We'll get home and start working on next year." - John McCormack, head coach

🔼 Life’s a Beach. Florida Atlantic beach volleyball senior Sydney Schroder sat down with Assistant Coach Kristi Tekavec for this week's Inside the Owl's Burrow: Life's A Beach segment.

Tekavec joined Florida Atlantic in 2020 as a volunteer assistant before being elevated to Assistant Coach in the fall of 2022. She has been an instrumental part of the Sandy Owls' success over her five seasons in Boca Raton.

The Owls have had tremendous success over the past five seasons, winning three conference championships (2021, 2023, 2025), in addition to earning three NCAA Championship appearances, including the program's first in 2022.

🔼 Back For “Moore.” FAU WBB coach LeAnn Freeland announced that Jada Moore is staying in Paradise, rejoining the team as a graduate assistant on Coach Freeland's inaugural staff.

Moore rejoins the Owls after completing her fifth season in 2024-25. She finished her career by recording season-bests in every statistical category, with 877 career points scored and 552 career rebounds, in addition to recording 252 career assists and 110 career steals.

🔼 RISE Up. AAC Commissioner Tim Pernetti announced on Thursday the launch of American RISE Ventures (Revenue, Innovation, Sports, Entertainment), a new business division, created to lead all aspects of the league's revenue generation, sponsorship strategy, media rights, brand partnerships, technology, emerging business ventures and long-term commercial innovation across the conference. Veteran sports executive Bryan Calka, who brings nearly 25 years of experience leading revenue and brand strategy for prominent organizations in professional sports, has been named chief commercial officer for the conference.
