Paradise Brew 5/19: Smile Because it Happened

This remarkable FAU softball season has come to an end.

Good Morning, Owl Family. As the saying goes, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

The No. 2-seeded Florida Atlantic softball team's season concluded on Saturday at the NCAA Gainesville Regional's double-elimination tournament.

In their final outing of a remarkable year, the Owls (45-12) went toe-to-toe with the Gators (45-14), and held a lead through four innings before surrendering seven runs in the bottom of the fifth. FAU out-hit the Bears 7-5 in the later game but left 11 on base to officially end the postseason campaign of the back-to-back AAC regular season champions.

Thank you, Owl Fam, for joining us on this incredible journey.

🔼 And For the Grand Finale... Florida Atlantic baseball prevailed 4-3 over UAB in the regular season finale on Saturday in Alabama. The Owls enter the postseason at 36-19 overall and 15-12 in the American Athletic Conference. They will be the fourth seed in the AAC Tournament beginning Tuesday, May 20, in Clearwater, Florida.

🔼 That’s a Wrap. The FAU women's track & field team closed out the final day of the 2025 AAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Charlotte, on Saturday evening.

Junior Rosa ten Berg started the afternoon by placing third in the 800-meter run as the second Owl to place in the weekend. She moved herself in the record book to No. 2 with her new personal best. The Owls registered a 3:45.18 for a season-best to close out the season. FAU had two qualify within the top three of the AAC (3000-meter steeplechase and 800-meter).

The Owls will wait until the qualifications for the NCAA Regional South Region at the end of the month.
