Paradise Brew 5/12: Tickets Punched ... Again

Making its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 13th in program history, Owls Softball will battle Georgia Tech in the Gainesville Regional this Friday.

Good Morning, Owl Family. The back-to-back AAC regular season champion FAU softball team's postseason will continue in the 2025 NCAA Regionals.

Making its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 13th in program history, the Owls (44-10) will battle Georgia Tech in the Gainesville Regional this Friday, May 16. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. on ESPNU.

In each of the last two tournaments, FAU has been the only non-power conference team to earn an at-large selection.

What else do we have mixed into today’s Brew? Check it out below!

🥎 Autumn Courtney lands a spot on the AAC All-Tournament team
⛳️ NaShawn Tyson reps men's golf at NCAA Tallahassee Regional
⚾️ Baseball sits in fourth place in AAC standings
🦉 And much, much more

🔼 Straight Reppin’. NaShawn Tyson will represent Florida Atlantic men's golf at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional beginning today at Seminole Legacy Golf Club. It's the third consecutive year the Owls have had an individual qualify for postseason.

The format is 54 holes of stroke play and concludes on Wednesday. The top five teams and the top individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA National Championship at Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, California, May 23-28.

⛳️ : THE WHOLE STORY

🔼 Circle of Success. FAU softball's Autumn Courtney's dominance during the 2025 campaign, in which she was named the unanimous AAC Pitcher of the Year, has continued in the postseason with a spot on the AAC All-Tournament team

In the AAC Semifinals, Courtney tossed a complete game and allowed just one hit and no earned runs while striking out seven. The junior pitcher's record stands at 23-3 on a 1.80 ERA, the 23rd lowest nationally, and 163 strikeouts, ranked 32nd in Division I. She also leads the conference in opponent batting average, limiting offenses to a .156 average at the plate.

🔼 Stella Got Her Groove Back. Florida Atlantic soccer player Stella Rubidoux is a prime example of discipline and personal growth. After two seasons at the United States Air Force Academy, where she began her collegiate soccer career, Rubidoux transferred to FAU as a student. It only took one semester for her to find her way, not only onto the roster but into the starting lineup, where she has been a consistent piece for the Owls' defense.

Rubidoux and her fellow classmates at the academy were thrust into six weeks of basic training before academics or athletics could take place. 5:45 a.m. wake-up calls and extremely strict schedules were the new norm for Rubidoux.

"I can see the purpose of the things that we were told to do. I can see that, yes, it is difficult or challenging now, but there is the other side of that where we grow and get better,” said Rubidoux.

🔼 Owl Moms = Best Moms. We hope all of the mothers in Owl Nation were spoiled rotten yesterday!

🔼 All’s Well That Ends Well. The Florida Atlantic baseball team defeated USF 6-2 on Sunday afternoon. With three games remaining, the Owls (33-18, 13-11) sit in fourth place in the American Athletic Conference standings, one game behind third-place USF.

The Answer: Two!

The Sandy Owls BVB team finished the 2025 season as one of the most decorated seasons in program history. Ashleigh Adams and Marketa Svozilova earned AVCA All-American honors, becoming just the fifth and sixth players in program history to earn the prestigious honor, in addition to being named the CUSA Pair of the Year. FAU also had four players earn AVCA Top Flight honors, five earn CUSA All-Conference honors, and head coach Steve Grotowski earned his second CUSA Coach of the Year honor.

🦉 Have a spectacular week, Owl Fam!
