🔼 Bombastic Beach Burrow. With FAU BVB set to host the 2025 Capri Classic on campus this weekend, the Sandy Owls are debuting their renovated and expanded FAU Beach Volleyball complex for the first time in competition.

The off-season project, which was completed in September, expanded the "Beach Burrow" from three courts to five. Funding for the project came through a $5 million gift from Michelle and Michael Hagerty in 2022 that renamed the Owls' athletics footprint as the Hagerty Family Athletics Village. Additional funding for the expansion came through a generous gift from the Lawlor Family.

🔼 Top Dogs Owls. The No. 22 Florida Atlantic softball team remains in Paradise for a three-game series against North Texas on ESPN+ today through Sunday. The opening game's first pitch is at 6 p.m. this evening.

For the second week in a row, the Owls (34-7, 13-2) will look to remain atop of the AAC standings and thwart off the league's number two team with the Mean Green (28-13, 10-5) coming off back-to-back sweeps in their last two series. 

🥎 : SCOUTING REPORT

🔼 Courting Perfection. The No. 27 Florida Atlantic women's tennis team, the only undefeated team among NCAA Division I schools, will carry a 14-0 record into this weekend's match against in-state foe FIU. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET tomorrow, Saturday, April 12, and will be played at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center. Prior to the match, FAU will celebrate two seniors Millie-Mae Matthews and Lexi Silna, who have played their entire collegiate careers in Paradise.

🔼 Time to Tame the Tigers. Florida Atlantic baseball returns home tonight to start a weekend series against Memphis. First pitch for the opener between the Owls (23-9, 5-4) and the Tigers (12-20, 1-8) is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+. Saturday's middle game will have a 4 p.m. first pitch, and Sunday's finale will begin at noon.

The Owls are coming off their first road series sweep since 2022. It was the first time East Carolina had been swept at home in conference play since 2018.

🔼 Covering Owl Of It. Episode 27 of Florida Atlantic's Inside the Owls' Burrow airs tonight at 5:30 p.m. ET and again tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. The show will also re-air next week on Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m., Friday April 18 at 5:30 p.m and finally on Saturday, April 19th at 11:30 a.m.

This week's show will feature WR Easton Messer and offensive lineman Alex Atcavage "Wired for Sound." Forte speaks one-on-one with newly hired head WBB coach LeAnn Freeland. The show will also look at the Owls' 2025 Football Pro Day as well as a profile feature on volleyball's Victoria Hensley, coming off a season where she was the top setter in the conference.

Rowinska, a newcomer to the program, has a team-leading singles record of 13-4 on the season and has a 12-1 dual match record, but more importantly, Rowinska has worked with Smejkal to build a 12-1 dual match doubles record, all on court one for their No. 87 ranking. The duo is just two of the Owls that are enjoying an outstanding season. The FAU women's tennis team, the only undefeated team in the nation, moved up to No. 27 this week following three road victories last week.
