Paradise Brew 3/3: MBB's Historic Tampa Takedown

The Owls MBB team achieved their second wire-to-wire victory over the USF Bulls this season, winning in Tampa for the first time in program history.

Good morning, Owls Family. Florida Atlantic's men's basketball team took down South Florida in a 69-63 win on Sunday afternoon, and quite the celebration commenced.
 
The Owls (16-13, 8-7 AAC) achieved their second wire-to-wire victory over the Bulls (13-17, 7-10 AAC) this season, winning in Tampa for the first time in program history.
 
Sophomore forward Kaleb Glenn and freshman center Matas Vokietaitis combined for 29 points with 18 rebounds. FAU also leaned on their front-court trio, with junior forward Baba Miller scoring a game-high 17 points.

🔼 In Walk-Off Fashion. Jake Duer launched a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to give Florida Atlantic baseball a 6-5 win over Fordham on Sunday at the FAU Baseball Stadium. The Owls swept the Rams to improve to 10-1 on the season.

🔼 Circling Up For Great News. The No. 22 FAU softball team recorded its third run-rule in victory in five games, defeating Morehead State 9-0 in five innings on Sunday afternoon.
 
With the win, the Owls (19-4) concluded the three-day Governors Invitational with 43 runs while only allowing 11. The victory over the Eagles (1-18) was an all-around strong performance from FAU on offense and in the circle, with eight hits and a career-best outing from junior pitcher Jaden Martinez.

🔼 Get In On This. In conjunction with the announcement of the complete 2025 football schedule, Florida Atlantic has launched season ticket sales in advance of your hometown Owls' 25th anniversary season and the first under new head coach Zach Kittley.

Football season tickets at Flagler Credit Union Stadium are priced as low as $75 for the season, making it one of the best values in the vibrant south Florida sports market. The Owls are offering a list of exclusive benefits for any season ticket holders who buys or renews before July 1, including an official Owl flag.

🔼 Seven Sandy Dubs. The No. 12 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team earned their seventh-straight win over Southern Miss, 4-1, but fell to No. 17 FIU, 3-2, to split their final two matches at the FIU Invite on Saturday in Miami. The Sandy Owls move to 7-1 on the season and 1-1 in CUSA play.

Florida Atlantic will head to the Lone Star State next weekend as they prepare to compete in the TCU on Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 in Fort Worth, Texas.

🔼 Linking Up in Daytona Beach. Florida Atlantic men's golf is set to return to action today at the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate. This is the third of seven events this spring leading up to the AAC Championship in late April.
 
Stetson will host this week's tournament at the Hills Course at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida. The two-day event will consist of 36 holes today and 18 tomorrow.

🔼 Hatching New Records. The FAU women's track & field team completed the indoor season at the 2025 AAC Indoor Championships on Saturday evening.

The Owls had another strong day on the track as more program records and personal bests were set throughout the day. Sophomore Jessica Hatch and finished with a 4:51.89 in the mile to move her name to No. 1 in the FAU books. Hatch broke the record after 21 years, with the previous time being 4:52.02.

🔼 Top Of Their Games. FAU Athletics has named its Prestige Windows & Doors Student-Athletes of the Month for February in men's golfer NaShawn Tyson and women’s golfer Charlotte Perkins.

🔼 MBB Takes the Spotlight. The Florida Atlantic Coaches Show continues tomorrow night from 5-6 p.m. at the Duffy's Sports Grill in Boca Raton.

Men's basketball will be the focus of this week's radio show, the final show scheduled for spring. Host Ken LaVicka will be joined by head coach John Jakus, Director of Player Development Demond Parker and sophomore forward Kaleb Glenn, who is coming off his first start and double double with the Owls in their 69-63 win over AAC in-state foe South Florida.
