Paradise Brew 3/24: It Doesn't Get More Clutch

Marshall Lipsey launched a go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Florida Atlantic baseball team to a 6-4 victory over Rice on Sunday afternoon.

Good morning, Owls Family. Marshall Lipsey launched a go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Florida Atlantic baseball team to a 6-4 victory over Rice on Sunday afternoon at the FAU Baseball Stadium. FAU improved to 19-5 overall and 2-1 in the American Athletic Conference, while the visiting Owls return to Houston at 5-19 overall and 1-2 in the AAC.

🔼 Losses? Don’t Know Her. The No. 27 Florida Atlantic women's tennis team recorded a 6-1 victory over the visiting Delaware at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center on Sunday morning. The Owls remain undefeated and improve their season-opening winning streak to 11, which ties the program's record set by the previous season's squad.
 
Wins on doubles courts two and three earned FAU the match's first point in the clinch/playout format. The two teams moved into singles play where every match factored into the day's final score.

🔼 Supreme Senior Sendoff. The No. 65 Florida Atlantic men's tennis team celebrated seniors John Bernard and Jiri Jenicek prior to a 6-1 dominant performance over Tulane at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
 
The 6-1 victory was the seventh in a row for the Owls who move to 9-7 on the year while Tulane falls to 5-12.

🔼 Full Of Promise. The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team opened the outdoor season at the 2025 Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami on Saturday afternoon, ending the day with four program records

To start the day, Promise Cross placed first in the high jump and tied the program record in the high jump after 19 years with a 1.70m. Constance Pittet placed second in the 800 meter-dash with a 2:15.67. Freshman Astrid Baunge finished second with a 7:04.98 in the 2000-meter steeplechase in her first outdoor meet of her collegiate career. Baunge is now ranked No. 2 in program history after today's performance.

🔼 Linking Up in North Carolina. Florida Atlantic men's golf continues its spring season on today and tomorrow at the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate. The two-day event will consist of 36 holes today and 18 tomorrow.

🔼 Ups ‘N’ Downs. The No. 14 Florida Atlantic Sandy Owls wrapped up play in the Stetson Beach Blast on Saturday, finishing 1-1 with a loss against No. 16 Stetson, 3-2, and beating Erskine, 5-0, for its third sweep this season.

🔼 A Blip in the Big Picture. The No. 22 Florida Atlantic softball team saw its 11-game winning streak snapped on Sunday with an 8-6 loss to Charlotte at FAU Softball Stadium.

The Owls (29-5, 8-1) had their sights set on an AAC sweep, holding a 6-0 lead before the visiting 49ers (14-18, 2-6) scored eight times in the top of the sixth.

⇢⇢⇢ Ashleigh Adams and Marketa Svozilova of the Florida Atlantic BVB earned their fourth consecutive Conference USA Pair of the Week award on Tuesday. How many other FAU BVB pairs have earned this many CUSA beach volleyball Pair of the Week honors?

Ashleigh Adams and Marketa Svozilova of the Florida Atlantic BVB earned their fourth consecutive Conference USA Pair of the Week award on Tuesday. They are the first four-time CUSA beach volleyball Pair of the Week. It also marked the sixth career weekly honor for Svozilova and fifth for Adams.
