The FAU Sandy Owls jumped up four spots to No. 12 in the AVCA Beach Volleyball Coaches Poll rankings as they prepare for the FIU Invite.

Good morning, Owls Family. The Florida Atlantic Sandy Owls jumped up four spots to No. 12 in the week one AVCA Beach Volleyball Coaches Poll rankings. The move marked the second-largest advancement by a team so far this season.

The squad is off to an impressive start, finishing its season-opening weekend unbeaten at 4-0 and earned three top-20 wins over No. 14 Washington, No. 17 FIU, and No. 13 Georgia State.

The Sandy Owls now head to Miami to compete at the FIU Invite today (Friday, Feb. 28) and tomorrow (Saturday, March 1).

What else do we have mixed into today’s Brew? Check it out below!

Sunday's finale is once again a Sunday Funday presented by Demand the Limits Injury Attorneys. Collect your Max Martzolf / James Litman trading card, run the bases, and get autographs postgame.

🔼 Sleep Is Overrated. The No. 22 Florida Atlantic softball team travels to Tennessee to play six games in four days, beginning with the Governor's Ball tournament featuring host Austin Peay, Morehead State, and Northern Kentucky before a single-game road matchup against Middle Tennessee.

This is the Owls’ fourth and final regular season tournament of the 2025 campaign, running today through Sunday, Mar. 2, with one game against the host team Governors (12-3) and two against both the Eagles (1-13) and the Norse (6-4). On Monday, the squad makes a short trip to Murfreesboro to take on the Blue Raiders (4-11) with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.

🔼 Speed Under Pressure. The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team is set to compete in its second AAC Indoor Championship today (Friday, Feb. 28) through Saturday, Mar. 1, at the Birmingham Crossplex aired on ESPN+.

The Owls have had a strong indoor season with 23 new entries into the program's top-10 record book thus far. Florida Atlantic enters indoor postseason competition being ranked as high as No. 79 in the mile and No. 46 in the 800-meter run in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

🔼 No Charity From the Charity Stripe. The Florida Atlantic's MBB team was defeated by North Texas, 71-61, on Thursday evening at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.

With the loss, the Owls move to 15-13, 8-7 in AAC play. Florida Atlantic had a strong opening 20 minutes, shooting over 50% from both the field and from three-point range, but the Mean Green's (21-6, 12-3 AAC) top-ranked defense forced them to rely on the free throw game in the second half.

At Sage Dental, we focus on preventing dental emergencies, but we understand they can happen. Here are tips for handling common emergencies:

  • Toothache: Rinse with warm water, floss gently, apply a cold pack for swelling,
    and see a dentist promptly.

  • Knocked-Out Tooth: Handle by the crown, rinse gently, store in milk or saline if
it won’t go back in the socket, and see a dentist within 30 minutes.

  • Chipped/Broken Tooth: Save pieces, eat soft foods, apply gauze to stop
bleeding, use a cold pack for swelling, and seek dental care immediately.

  • Lost Filling/Crown: Keep the crown, rinse with warm water, avoid chewing on
the affected side, and visit the dentist for repair.

Seek immediate care for severe pain, excessive bleeding, signs of infection, a knocked-out tooth, or significant damage. Prevent emergencies by maintaining good oral hygiene, regular check-ups, wearing protective gear and watching your diet. Contact Sage Dental for all your dental needs!
