Paradise Brew 2/24: No Losses Detected
The FAU women's tennis team snagged a 4-2 victory over in-state foe, No. 20 UCF, on Friday, leaving the squad with a perfect 6-0 record.
Good morning, Owls Family. The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team, ranked No. 50 nationally, picked up their second win in as many days with a 4-2 victory over in-state foe No. 20 UCF on Friday.
Both teams entered the day with unblemished records, but after more than three-and-a-half hours of court work, it was the Owls on top with a 6-0 record while UCF fell to 7-1.

🔼 As Eminem Says, “You Only Get One Shot.” Charlotte Perkins captured the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational on Sunday in Greensboro, Georgia, for her first career victory. The sophomore outlasted an 85-player field to win by one shot. As a team, the Owls finished 11th.

🔼 Ohhhh Yeatts! A game-winning home run from Chloe Yeatts propelled the No. 25 Florida Atlantic softball team past Stetson for a 5-3 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The 15-2 Owls completed the Stetson Invitational with a perfect 5-0 record, with comebacks in four of the five games, and are now winners of six straight, hitting 10 home runs in their last four.

🔼 Sunday Slip. The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team fell to No. 22 Memphis by a score of 84-65 on Sunday afternoon at FedEx Forum. With the loss to the nationally ranked Tigers (22-5, 12-2 AAC), the Owls move to 15-12, 8-6 AAC on the season.

🔼 Primed For the Podium. The FAU men's and women's swimming & diving teams finished the fourth and final day of their two conference championships on Saturday night, with more school records broken and medals won.
The men’s team snagged the runners up spot in the Atlantic Sun. Day four saw more Owls podium finishes and A-Final successes. After sweeping the 1m and 3m diving events, freshman Isac Faxius was named ASUN Most Outstanding Diver.
Day four for the women was the most successful night of them all. The evening included a new school record and multiple podium finishes as well as plenty of athletes recording best times.

🔼 A Sandy Sweep. The No. 16-ranked Florida Atlantic Sandy Owls finished out the Sandy Spartan Showdown unbeaten, securing another pair of wins over host Tampa, 3-2, and earning their highest-ranked win of the season over No. 13 Georgia State, 3-2. The Sandy Owls remain perfect on the season at 4-0 and 1-0 in CUSA play.

🔼 Nearly Perfect. Florida Atlantic baseball blitzed UConn early on Saturday and held off a late comeback attempt to win 25-17 and remain unbeaten at 6-0.
Unfortunately, the squad tasted defeat for the first time this season on Sunday. The Owls fell to 6-1 after a 5-3, 10-inning loss to UConn (1-5).

As the calendar inches closer to basketball fans' favorite time of the year, so too will this week's radio show. Head Women's Basketball Coach Jennifer Sullivan will update fans on all things women's basketball, while Head Men's Basketball Coach John Jakus will join the show to talk FAU men's hoops.

🔼 Saturday Setback. The FAU WBB team fought hard but came up just short 58-53 at Charlotte on Saturday inside Halton Arena.
Alana Rouser and Mya Perry led the Owls in the contest. Rouser finished with a career-high 14 points, shooting 67 percent from the field and going a perfect 100 percent (2-of-2) at the line, in addition to grabbing five boards and collecting a pair of steals.
⇢⇢⇢ The No. 25 AFU softball team won both games played on day two of the Stetson Invitational, defeating LIU by a score of 13-8 before pulling off a 4-3 win over Marist. By the time Saturday afternoon rolled around, FAU had already set the single-game program record in home runs. How many homers did the squad get?
