FAU men’s swimming and diving made history this weekend, capturing the Owls’ first-ever conference championship, earning the ASUN title after a dramatic final-event win in the 400 free relay (program-record 2:52.64). Daniel Laureyssens was named ASUN Male Most Outstanding Swimmer after adding a 100 free gold (record 42.59), while Trevor Kuhn won the platform dive and Rocco Simonelli shared Most Outstanding Diver honors.

On the women's side at the American Championships, Megan Drover-Smith upgraded last year's silver to gold in the 200 back with a program-record 1:55.24, while Nula Gow (silver) and Ella Freeman (bronze) both medaled in the 200 breast. Laureyssens has already qualified for the NCAA Championships in two events. What a week for the Owls!

🔼 Sunday W. FAU baseball capped off the weekend with a Sunday matinee win over Iowa, defeating the Hawkeyes, 3-2. FAU opened the scoring in the first with a Brando Leroux double that scored Marshall Lipsey before Iowa took the lead in the third. FAU would strike back in the bottom of the third to even the game at 2-2 before Kyle Boylston delivered what would prove to be the game-winning home run in the fourth. Up next: FAU clashes with Miami on Wednesday in Boca Raton at 6:30 p.m. Tickets here.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. FAU softball capped its own Joan Joyce Classic with a 5-1 win over UMass on Sunday, finishing the four-day tournament 6-0 and outscoring opponents 42-9. Up next: a midweek trip to UCF on Wednesday before the Beach Chicken Brawl at Coastal Carolina (Feb. 27-March 1).

🔼 Sandy Start. No. 15 FAU ran the table at its own Beach Burrow Bash, going 4-0 to open the season. Saturday brought wins over Palm Beach Atlantic (4-1) and CUSA rival FIU (3-2), with the match against the Panthers coming down to a decisive third set on Court 1. The win over FIU marks FAU's third victory this season over a team receiving votes in the AVCA preseason poll. Up next: the Seminole Beach Bash at Florida State (Feb. 27-28).

During the Florida Atlantic vs. South Florida game, we recognized Boca Raton Fire Rescue firefighters Nikki Esposito and Brianna Friedrich as part of the First Responder Salute. From serving with Boca Fire to mentoring youth and leading in the Honor Guard, their impact reaches far beyond the court. Thank you to ADT for supporting our student-athletes, our community, and the heroes who help keep us safe.
