Good morning, Owls Family. Welp, we might as well call this is the official Florida Atlantic Awards Brew, as the American Athletic Conference Awards have been comin’ in hot. From baseball player Jake Milan’s AAC Player of the Week recognition to Matas Vokietaitis receiving his conference-best fifth freshman of the week honor (and a whole bunch more in between), FAU has indeed betting getting its flowers (more below).

🥎 FAU Softball hosts in-state rival FIU tonight

🔼 Mounds of Good News. Florida Atlantic Baseball used another dominant performance from the pitching staff to hold off Miami by a 2-1 final on Tuesday night. Six FAU pitchers combined to hold the Hurricanes to four hits.

🔼 Rising Ranks. Florida Atlantic men's golf is tied for sixth entering today's final round of "The Prestige," hosted by UC-Davis. After a second-round 67 (-4), Jake Hibbert is just one shot off the individual lead. Hibbert moved up 12 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for second. The senior made five birdies and one bogey to equal his career-best round. At -6, he's in a trio of players one back of Kansas State's Kobe Velociek.

Freshman Biagio Gagliardi also made a move up 18 places with a second round 71.

🔼 Perry Power in Effect. After posting her ninth career and sixth 20-point performance this season, Mya Perry was recognized as an AAC Weekly Honorable Mention honoree. This marks the Owls' ninth weekly award this season and Perry's third weekly AAC accolade this season.
 
Perry led the Owls in their battle against South Florida, scoring a team-high 22 points, shooting 44 percent (8-of-18) from the field, 38 percent (5-of-13) from 3-point range, and 1-of-2 at the line, and added four rebounds and a steal against the Bulls.

🔼 Courting Success. Coming off their fifth straight victory, the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team has earned a pair of weekly honors from the AAC. Sophomore forward Kaleb Glenn received an AAC Honorable Mention, while center Matas Vokietaitis earned Freshman of the Week. This marks Glenn's second honorable mention of the 2024-25 season. Vokietaitis receives his conference-best fifth freshman of the week honor.
 
Both came off the bench as key contributors for the Owls as they picked up an 87-75 victory over Charlotte before coming back from a second half double-digit deficit to beat Temple, 83-81.

🔼 He Swung For the Fences. Florida Atlantic senior Jake Millan has been named AAC Player of the Week. He is the first Owl hitter to win Player of the Week since Nolan Schanuel in April 2023.
 
Millan was a force to be reckoned with at the plate in the Owls' three-game sweep of Delaware. His 7-for-12 series line included a home run, four doubles, seven RBI, and seven runs scored.
 
Sophomore Trey Beard also found his way onto the AAC release as an Honorable Mention after striking out 10 Delaware hitters in just four innings on Friday night.

🔼 Put This Duo On Your Radar. A pair of Owls from the No. 18 Florida Atlantic softball team, junior pitcher Autumn Courtney and freshman outfielder Bella Foran, received weekly honorable mentions from the AAC. 
 
This marks the second recognition in two weeks of the season for Courtney and the first for Foran. The two led the team through the Joan Joyce Classic, in which the Owls recorded wins over Minnesota, NC State, and Dartmouth, to improve their record to 9-2.

🔼 They Got the Invite. The No. 18 nationally ranked Florida Atlantic softball team will take part in the 2026 edition of the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational, as announced by ESPN. 
 
Held annually at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida, the ESPN Events-hosted event  features 16 of the top teams in the nation playing over a span of four days. The 2026 tournament, taking place from Feb. 12 – 15, will include the Owls along with 11 other nationally ranked teams, including five in the top 10.

🔼 Think Pink. The No. 25 Florida Atlantic softball team will host in-state rival FIU tonight at the FAU Softball Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. The outing will mark FAU's "pink game" in support of cancer awareness and research.

The Owls look to build on their impressive 9-2 record before their first road trip of the 2025 campaign.

🔼 Making a Splash. The FAU men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to compete in their respective 2025 conference championships. The women's team will compete in their third AAC Championship from today (Wednesday, Feb. 19) through Saturday, Feb. 22, hosted by SMU in Dallas, Texas.
 
The men are ready for their second ASUN Conference Championship, taking place today through Saturday, Feb. 22, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
 
The Owls look to carry over their regular season success that saw a second consecutive sweep in the annual midseason Patriot Invite and five new school records into conference play. 

🔼 Are the Wins Bigger in Texas? Florida Atlantic men's tennis are set to travel to Texas for a pair of away games. The Owls will face Rice tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 20) at 12 pm ET in Houston, Texas. On Friday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m., FAU will face UTSA in San Antonio. Both contests are versus AAC opponents. However, they will not count towards a regular season standing.

🔼 Looking For a Five (and Six!)-Peat. The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team will travel to DeLand, Florida, tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 20) to play Stetson at 1 p.m ET. The squad returns home this Friday, Feb. 21, for a 5 p.m. match versus in-state foe Central Florida. The Owls remain undefeated at 4-0 on the year.

Three Owls hold unblemished records with veterans Panna Bartha, Millie-Mae Matthews and Lexi Silna bringing in a recorded of 3-0 on the year into the match. Silna and newcomer Malwina Rowinska are 4-0 in doubles play, while Victoria Gomez O'Hayon and Matthews are 3-0 on the year.
