Good morning, Owls Family. The Florida Atlantic MBB team has now won three straight games by over 20 points after taking down Tulsa in a 79-55 victory on Saturday afternoon.
 
In yet another complete game on both sides of the court, the Owls (13-10, 6-4 AAC) defeated a Golden Hurricane team (9-15, 3-8 AAC) after finding early shooting success while clamping down on Tulsa's ability to score on the outside. Junior forward Baba Miller led the way with his fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds, also adding five assists while drilling all three of his attempts from downtown.

🔼 U-N-D-E-F-E-A-T-E-D. The Florida Atlantic softball team closed out the fourth and final game of Paradise Classic with the 8-1 victory over Georgia State on Sunday afternoon. 

With the win, the Owls finish their season-opening tournament undefeated, with resume-building wins over SEC Ole Miss, for their first 6-0 start since 2016.

🔼 Making Their Marks. The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team wrapped up the 2025 Celebration Pointe Classic with a total of five new entries into the program's Top 10 record book, including a new freshman record. 

FAU had three in the top 10 (Rosa ten Berg, Constance Pittet, and Sofia Molina) in the 800-meter run. ten Berg and Pittet both improved their spots in the program record book in the 800-meter moving up to 2nd and 4th all-time after clocking in times of 2:08.87 and 2:10.96. In the 60-meter dash, Kayla Hopkins recorded a time of 7.59 in the finals for a new freshman record which moved her up to fifth all-time.

🔼 Oh yes, it’s Ladies Night. The Florida Atlantic Coaches Show continues the 2024-25 schedule tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 11), from 6-7 p.m. ET at the Duffy's Sports Grill in Boca Raton. Fans are encouraged to attend, or you can listen to the show live on FOX Sports 640 South Florida.

Jennifer Sullivan, FAU's head women's basketball coach, redshirt sophomore guard Stefanie Ingram, and senior softball pitcher Gabby Sacco will join the voice of the Owls and host Ken LaVicka at this week's show.

🔼 Long-Running Legacy. The Murphy family has a deep history with Florida Atlantic baseball. Tommy Murphy played at FAU for then-Assistant Coach John McCormack from 1998-2000, met his wife Deborah at FAU, and went on to get drafted by the Angels in the third round of the 2000 MLB Draft. He now has two sons carrying on his legacy. Tyler, who is a pitcher for the Owls, is entering his junior season, while Dylan, a catcher, is entering his first.
 
For Tyler and Dylan, their father's legacy is always in the back of their minds, but they see it is a motivator rather than something that adds pressure to their careers.
 
The two are looking to define their own paths at FAU, with Tyler having collected Conference USA and AAC honors in his first two seasons.

🔼 Misstep in Memphis. The Florida Atlantic WBB team fell on the road in Memphis on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 73-60 battle against the Memphis Tigers inside Elma Roane Fieldhouse. The Owls fall to 10-15 on the season and 2-10 in AAC play.

🔼 Familiar Foes. Florida Atlantic men's tennis built a 3-0 lead but could not hold on, falling to No. 21 UCF 4-3 on Sunday afternoon. The match was the second of four scheduled versus in-state foe and was the fourth contest in as many scheduled dual matches that were determined by a 4-3 score.

Sacco Doled Out Donuts. The Florida Atlantic softball team remains undefeated after a five-inning shutout victory over Missouri State by a score of 11-0 on Saturday evening as part of day three of the Paradise Classic.
 
While plenty of runs from the offense were found throughout, it was senior pitcher Gabby Sacco who was the star of the night, earning her second career no-hitter. 

The Answer: 28!

Gabby Sacco's no-no goes down as the 28th in program history and second of her collegiate career.
