Good morning, Owls Family. Florida Atlantic men's hoops announced 'Stripe the Elly' for Thursday, Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. versus Memphis in the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena to kick off American Athletic Conference play.

As the Owls ring in 2025 in Paradise against the Tigers, fans are encouraged to wear red or white depending on your ticket location.  The first 750 students will receive a free t-shirt.

🔼 Anything But Beach Bums. After capturing the AVCA East Qualifier Championship and finishing tied for 13^th at the AVCA Fall National Championships, Ashleigh Adams and Marketa Svozilova were named the Conference USA November Pair of the Month.
 
The No. 1-seeded Adams and Svozilova had a tremendous month in November, capturing the AVCA East Coast Qualifier Championship and tying for 13th at the AVCA Fall Beach National Championships. They earned six straight sweeps to win the championship.

- "Motor" crossed the goal line for his fourth touchdown of the season, matching his mark from the previous year. Singletary's two-yard score brought the game within one score in the first half before the Giants ultimately fell to the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 35-14.

🔼 More Hoopla. Episode 19 Florida Atlantic's Inside the Owls' Burrow will air today at 11 p.m. and again on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 11:30 a.m. Inside the Owls' Burrow is also available on fausports.com and YouTube. 

The attention of this week's show stays with the basketball teams. Host Frank Forte highlights the men's team's win over in-state foe Jacksonville and Texas State. Assistant Coach Jordan Fee is featured while guards Kyky Tandy and Leland Walker compete in a shooting game called O-W-L-S. Women's Basketball Head Coach Jennifer Sullivan is "Wired for Sound" at practice plus fans will have the opportunity to get to know guard Mya Perry in the debut of "In the Paint."

🔼 Riding the Wave. The Florida Atlantic Owls captured their first overtime victory of the season, earning a 71-66 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles to open up play in the GCU Have Fayth Christmas Classic on Wednesday inside Global Credit Union Arena. Unfortunately, the Owls dropped the second game to Grand Canyon, 81-60, in a hard-fought hardwood battle on Thursday.

🔼 Competition But Fun … Fun-petition. The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to host the annual FAU Fun Invite at the FAU Aquatic Center this morning against conference foe East Carolina as well as Old Dominion. The action will begin at 10 a.m. ET.

At last year's FAU Fun Invite versus Old Dominion, UIC, and Rice, the Owls enjoyed a very successful day, taking first place in 13 events out of 32, the most out of four teams.

🔼 Patru to Paradise. Florida Atlantic proudly welcomes Alexia Patru, who has signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's tennis in Paradise. Patru, a native of Romania, will join the team in the fall of 2025. She holds two national championships in mixed doubles and two ITF tournament titles. She reached the finals of the J30 doubles in Skopje, the J60 semifinals in both Belgrade and Antalya, and the quarterfinal J100 in Limassol and Trnava. Patru's best ITF rank is 596.

🔼 Hard Launch For Softball. Florida Atlantic's softball team has announced their schedule for the 2025 season. Entering their third year under Head Coach Jordan Clark, the Owls will partake in their second campaign as part of the AAC after winning the regular season title. They look to build off a 2024 season that saw them win 41 games and qualify for the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2016.

The Owls' season will open with four weekends of tournaments, the first two of which are hosted at FAU Softball Stadium.
