Good morning, Owls Family. Florida Atlantic's men's basketball team hosts Coastal Georgia for their home opener this evening at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The game will air on ESPN+ and tip off at 7 p.m.
 
The 1-0 Owls are coming off their first win in the John Jakus era and now have their first official opportunity to pack the Elly as they face off against the 0-3 Mariners. FAU has won 30 of their last 31 home games since the start of the 2022-23 season, the second-best mark in the nation in that timespan.

🔼 Make Way For Trey. Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books, with four former Florida Atlantic Owls seeing action.

#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
- A new NFL sack leader has emerged, FAU's own Trey Hendrickson. Hendrickson's play on the field has gone from elite to historic. On Sunday afternoon, he notched a career-high four sacks, second most in a single game by any player this season, to up his season total to 11 and put him in double digits for the fourth time in five seasons. Additionally, he registered seven hits of the quarterback and ten pressures. He moves to number three in franchise history with 50.5 sacks after just 57 games as a Bengal as Cincinnati picked up the 41-24 victory to keep them firmly in the AFC playoff hunt.

🔼 Friday Night Lights, Soccer Style. Florida Atlantic men's soccer (7-5-3, 3-3-1 AAC) will host FIU (4-5-6, 2-2-3 AAC) in the AAC Quarterfinal at the FAU Soccer Stadium tonight at 7 p.m. ET. The winner will advance to take on top-seed Memphis in the semifinals next Wednesday.

🔼 A Texas Two-Fer. The Florida Atlantic Owls are set for their final regular season road trip this weekend as they swing through the Lone Star State to take on the North Texas Mean Green on Friday, Nov. 8, and the UTSA Roadrunners on Sunday, Nov. 10. Friday's first serve is set for 7 p.m. ET, while Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.

Florida Atlantic enters this weekend's matches at 14-10 on the season and 6-6 in AAC play. The Owls are 4-2 over their last six contests, earning wins against Rice, South Florida, Charlotte, and Temple.

🔼 Owls Clean Up. Florida Atlantic men's soccer was well-represented in Thursday's American Conference postseason awards announcement. Leading the way was senior Mamadou Diarra, who was named AAC Offensive Player of the Year. Diarra, Noah Kvifte, and Aboubacar Traore were each named to the AAC First Team. Callum Frogson and Sebastian Zettl earned their way onto the Second Team, while Kasper Heerfordt was included on the All-Freshman Team.
 
Entering Friday's AAC Quarterfinal, Diarra is tied with Kvifte for the AAC lead in goals with eight, three of which were game-winners. He's also third in the conference in assists.

🔼 Sun Setting on Fall Softball. Florida Atlantic softball will host two games on Joan Joyce Field at the FAU Softball Stadium to conclude their 2024 fall season. First up is a 10-inning matchup against Eastern Florida this evening, with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m. ET. This will be followed by a makeup game against Lynn on Monday, Nov. 11, starting at 6 p.m.

🔼 Gridiron Blip. Florida Atlantic's football team fell to ECU on Thursday evening by a score of 49-7. 
 
Redshirt freshman RB Gemari Sands had the highlight of the evening for Florida Atlantic, hauling in a 33-yard pass from redshirt junior QB Cam Fancher with just one hand. Redshirt junior RB CJ Campbell logged his 10th touchdown of the season, a two-yard reception from redshirt freshman QB Kasen Wiseman
