The Owls men's soccer team walloped Charlotte 6-1 on Saturday to secure a spot in the AAC Tournament
Good morning, Owls Family. Florida Atlantic men's soccer (7-5-3, 3-3-1 AAC) needed a win or a draw on Saturday night against Charlotte (8-2-5, 3-2-2 AAC) to secure a spot in the AAC Tournament. They got the win … and then some.
With a record-breaking crowd on hand, the Owls put on a show, scoring three times on each side of halftime to stun the 49ers by a 6-1 final and clinch home-field advantage in the AAC Quarterfinals next Friday.
Head to the “One Big Thing” section for the bracket!

Katelynn Robine led the Owls offensively, tying for a match-high 16 kills and turning in an impressive .359 hitting clip. Victoria Hensley dished out a team-leading 32 assists and registered her 10th double-double of the season with ten digs.
🔼 A Post-Season Salute. Following the conclusion of the 2024 regular season, Florida Atlantic women's soccer defender Jodi Smith has been named to the American Athletic All-Conference Second Team, while junior Michelle Horan was named to the AAC All-Conference Third Team on Sunday afternoon.
Smith started in all 18 games this season and recorded 1538 minutes, playing in 12 complete matches. She registered a career-high of two goals. Horan was named to the AAC All-Conference Third Team. 🔼 Greasing the Skids. Florida Atlantic's men's basketball team fell to Auburn in a charity exhibition on Friday evening in their final outing before the start of the 2024-25 regular season. The Owls played in front of a sold-out crowd in Neville Arena to support Auburn University's Melton Scholars Program.
🗣 "On the whole, anytime you go on the road against a top 10 team, you realize what success looks and feels like, and our guys needed to feel that. We are going to have to go on the road. We play a ton of neutral [games] in November, and feeling that with a sold-out crowd before doing it is a real gift for us. Our guys now know what it takes to overcome a huge road environment.” - John Jakus, head coach
🔼 The Winds of Wichita 💨. Florida Atlantic's men's and women's cross country teams competed in the American Athletic Conference Championship on Friday evening.
For the first time this season, the Owls ran in a cold and windy location. The women started the evening in Wichita with a 6K. In the second appearance for this race in program history, the women's team placed seventh out of 13 teams, making a significant jump from last season, when they placed 11th.
Constance Pittet came in first for the Owls. She placed eighth overall and was named a women's AAC All-Conference team member.
