Good Morning, FAU Family. The FAU men’s basketball team is gearing up for the two-day Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach. The Owls will face Loyola Marymount today, then either George Mason or Ohio tomorrow. All games will air on CBS Sports Network. Learn more about the tournament.

🔼 Hometown Team. FAU student-athletes have spent almost 20,000 hours giving back to the Boca Raton Community, and today’s spotlight is on men’s basketball freshman Zion Sampaio.

🔼 Game Day. FAU women’s hoops is back in Paradise tonight, taking on Florida at 7 p.m. The 2-2 Owls and 5-1 Gators will face each other for the 10th time in history. The game will air on ESPN+. Full preview here.

FAU is collecting non-perishable food items, first aid, healthcare items, and toys for Hurricane Melissa relief at all basketball games this week, starting with tonight’s match-up against Florida.

🔼 300 Games. FAU football fell in the game’s final seconds, 48-45, to UConn on Saturday evening in a game that saw close to 1,300 yards of combined offense. Caden Veltkamp set a single-game completion record for the second week in a row, passing for 494 yards in the contest. FAU had three receivers with at least 100 yards in a game (Easton Messer, Asaad Wassem, and Dominique Henry), while Leon Hart Jr. led the defense with nine stops.

FAU will host its final game of the regular season on Nov. 29 at Flagler Credit Union Stadium against East Carolina.

🔼 Claiming Victory. On the final day of the Patriot Invitational, the FAU women’s swimming and diving team finished in first place. FAU beat out seven other teams to claim the meet, while the men’s team finished second overall.

🔼 Record Breaker. Daniel Laureyssens broke a 29-year school record at the George Mason Patriot Invitational on Friday, setting a new FAU best in the 200 free. His time of 1:33.95 was just 0.02 seconds short of the NCAA Championship standard, while the time broke former Owl Olympian and national champion Bela Szabados’ record.
