Paradise Brew 11/22: All Hat, No Cattle
FAU MBB takes down the Oklahoma State Cowboys to advance to the semifinals of the Shriner's Children's Charleston Classic
Good morning, Owls Family. The Owls men's basketball team took down the Oklahoma State Cowboys 86-78 in the opening round of the 2024 Shriners Children's Charleston Classic on Thursday afternoon.
With the win, the Owls (4-2) have defeated a previously unbeaten Cowboys team (3-1) to advance to the tournament's semifinals. In a physical and defensive outing, Florida Atlantic relied on free throw shooting to pull away, going 35-for-49 from the line.
The Owls will have little time to rest with a spot in the championship on the line in a matchup against Drake (4-0) this morning at 11:30 a.m. ET.

🔼 All On the Line. FAU Volleyball plays in the American Athletic Conference Tournament today, facing the No. 3-seeded East Carolina Pirates. First serve is set for 12 p.m. ET inside Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
Friday's matchup will mark the first all-time meeting at a neutral site and first postseason meeting between the two programs. With a dub, the Owls will prepare for the AAC semifinals tomorrow—Saturday, Nov. 23, at 12 p.m. ET and will take on the winner of No. 7 North Texas and No. 2 Rice.
🔼 Brains and Brawn. Six Florida Atlantic women's soccer players were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Drew Dempsey, Daniella Diaz, Leila Etemadi, Noa Olivia Ganthier, Michelle Horan, and Stella Rubidoux were named CSC Academic All-District in honor of their tremendous efforts on the pitch and in the classroom.
🔼 Welcome to the Dark Side. Men's hoops announced the blackout game on Saturday, November 30, at 6 p.m. ET, versus FGCU in the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
Fans are encouraged to wear their black gear and help create an electric atmosphere as the Owls look to defend their 13-game winning streak in Paradise. The first 750 students will receive a black t-shirt.

🔼 Owl Be Seeing Some Action. Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books, with five former Owls seeing action.

- In addition to two snaps on the defensive side of the ball, Pierre saw the field 19 times on special teams, downing a punt and making a tackle. Pittsburgh took down the divisional rival Baltimore Ravens by a score of 18-16 to grow their lead in the AFC North.

🔼 Noah Knows. Florida Atlantic graduate senior Noah Kvifte has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for men's soccer. The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Kvifte was named to the AAC First Team All-Conference. In the classroom, Kvifte is working on his master's in business analytics. He completed his undergraduate studies at St. Leo University, majoring in Business Administration Management, and graduated with a 3.94 GPA.
🔼 Give This Post a Bump. Helping lead the Owls to 16 wins this season, a sixth-place finish in the American Athletic Conference, and securing a spot in the AAC tournament, Kateylynn Robine and Victoria Hensley were named to the AAC All-Conference Second Team.
Robine leads the Owls in kills (324), kills per set (3.12), ranking 9th in the AAC, points (365.5), and points per set (3.51). Hensley has dished out a team-leading 1,133 assists this season, currently ranking eighth all-time in a single season at Florida Atlantic, which also leads the AAC and ranks 11th nationally.

Florida Atlantic football hosts Charlotte tomorrow—Saturday, Nov. 23, in the team’s final home matchup of the 2024 season. The game, airing on ESPN+, will kick off at 3 p.m. ET. The afternoon also marks Senior Day for the Owls. FAU will honor the seniors during a pregame ceremony.
