Paradise Brew 11/18: Liberty Flamed Out
FAU MBB concluded the Field of 68 Tip-Off with an OT win over the Liberty Flames
Good morning, Owls Family. The FAU MBB team concluded the 2024 Field of 68 Tip-Off with another overtime outing, picking up the victory over Liberty, 77-74.
In a complete tale of two halves, the Owls (3-2) followed up a high-scoring first period with reliance on timely shots and defensive stands in the second to take down the previously undefeated Flames (3-1). Matas Vokietaitis set a career-high to lead the team in scoring with 17 on 7-for-9 shooting. 34 of the Owls' points came off the bench, led by Kaleb Glenn and Niccolo Moretti, scoring 12 each.
The Owls remain in Charleston to participate in the 2024 Shriners Children's Charleston Classic.

🔼 The Grandest Of Finales. Florida Atlantic Volleyball closed out the regular season on Sunday, earning a dominant four-set win, 3-1 (25-13, 22-25, 25-13, 25-18) over the Tulane Green Wave on Senior Day at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The Owls close out the regular season at 16-12 overall and 8-8 in AAC play.
Florida Atlantic now sets its sights on the American Athletic Conference Tournament next weekend. The Owls enter postseason play as the No. 6 seed and will face the No. 3 East Carolina Pirates on Friday, Nov. 22. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET in Wichita, Kansas.

🔼 Hoopin’ and Hollering. A solid first half powered the Florida Atlantic women's basketball team to a 78-49 win over the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats Saturday afternoon at the Elly. FAU improves its record to 3-1 on the season.
Mya Perry, Erin Rodgers, and Stefanie Ingram spearheaded the Owls offensively, all scoring double-figures. Perry tied her season high with 16 points, while Rodgers and Ingram finished with 15 and 11 points, respectively.

🔼 The Final Tally. Florida Atlantic's men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 2024 NCAA South Regionals in Tallahassee on Friday morning.
The women ran a 6K to start the morning, finishing in 18th place out of 31 teams. This is their best finish since 2010. On the men's side, they finished 25th after running a 10K.
🔼 Homeward Bound. The Florida Atlantic football team fell to Temple, 18-15, in an overtime battle on Saturday afternoon. Facing an eight-point deficit with two minutes left, the Owls of FAU showed no quit, driving down the field for a score and a trick play two-point conversion to force their first extra period since 2022.
The Owls return to Boca Raton for their final home game of the 2024 season, taking on Charlotte (3-7) on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. The afternoon will honor the team's seniors and local community heroes.
