Good Morning, FAU Fam.

What else do we have mixed into today’s Brew? Check it out below!

🏆 Watch List Nod
👟 Regular Season Finale
🦉 And much, much more

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Road Win. Florida Atlantic women’s soccer blanked North Texas 2-0, with Hailey Santiago and Sutton Markee finding the back of the net and Lola Hathorne picking up an assist. Lily Holden was busy in goal, turning away all five shots she faced for the shutout. The Owls made the most of limited chances, scoring twice on just seven shots while North Texas put up 14 without breaking through.

🔼 Watch List Nod. Kelby Valsin is one of 14 receivers added to the in-season Biletnikoff Award Watch List, honoring the most outstanding receiver in college football. The senior leads Florida Atlantic with 40 catches, 512 yards, and five touchdowns through five weeks. He's coming off a career-high 129 yards and three scores, all in the first half of the 66-10 rout of Texas Southern, which earned him honorable mentions from the American Conference and the Tyler Rose Earl Campbell Award.

🔼 Regular Season Finale. Florida Atlantic’s cross country teams close the regular season this morning at the FSU XC Invitational, returning to Apalachee Regional Park with the men’s 8K at 7:40 a.m. and the women’s 6K at 8:20 a.m. Up next is the American Conference Championships on Oct. 31, hosted by Tulane at Lake Oaks Park in New Orleans.

🔼 Two More On The Road. Florida Atlantic volleyball heads out for another two-match trip, visiting Temple tonight at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+ before closing the weekend at East Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The Owls sit at 9-6 overall and 2-2 in American play, leading the conference in assists per set at 12.66 and ranking second in hitting percentage and kills per set. Sequoia Layne picked up her first American weekly honor as Defensive Player of the Week after posting 16 blocks and 15 kills over two matches, and Maya Van Heyst leads the league with 562 assists. FAU holds the all-time edge in both series, 5-2 over Temple and 5-3 over East Carolina, and has won the last three meetings with the Pirates.

🔼 Ace Level Stuff. The College Baseball Show is putting FAU’s James Litman on its radar, calling him one of the more intriguing mid-major arms returning in 2027. The right-hander finished his 2026 campaign 8-3 with 80 strikeouts across 83.1 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .256 average.

🔼 Honored in the Classroom. Hailey Santiago and Derrick Rogers have been named Florida Atlantic's Student-Athletes of the Month for September, an award voted on by the athletic academic staff to recognize excellence in the classroom. Santiago, a psychology major, scored five of her American Conference-leading 10 goals during the month, including a hat trick against Jacksonville and two in a comeback win over Charlotte, and she leads the league with 22 points. Rogers has played in every contest for a defense that's helped build a league-best 4-1 record, and his advisor praised his habit of clearing schoolwork before the weekend so he can lock in on football.
