FAU men's and women's basketball teams hosted their annual media days

Good Morning, Owl Nation. FAU’s MBB and WBB teams hosted their yearly media days at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on Monday afternoon.
 
Graduate guard KyKy Tandy and redshirt senior guard Ken Evans Jr., as well as Head Coach John Jakus, gave their first official press conferences as members of the Owls. The trio discussed the team's outlook ahead of the 2024-25 season, beginning with an exhibition on Oct. 26 before their first official regular season game on Nov. 4.
 
Head coach Jennifer Sullivan, senior guard Jada Moore, and junior guard Mya Perry represented the Owls' WBB team.

🔼 Winds of Change. Due to Hurricane Milton's projected path, all Florida Atlantic campuses will suspend operations and classes, including online classes, through Thursday, Oct. 10. As information becomes available, a decision about Friday, Oct. 11, operations and classes will be made.

The impact on FAU Athletics events is as follows:

  • Wednesday's coaches radio show at Duffy's Sports Grill, featuring Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Tom Herman, has been canceled. The show will be pre-recorded and air Thursday at 6 p.m. on FOX Sports 640 South Florida.

  • Wednesday's and Thursday's on-campus football media opportunities have been canceled.

  • Thursday's women's soccer match versus Rice has been postponed. See more below.

  • Friday's men's soccer match versus USF remains as scheduled for 7 p.m. at FAU Soccer Stadium.

  • Saturday's football game versus North Texas remains as scheduled for 7 p.m. at FAU Stadium.

🔼 ‘Runners Up. Florida Atlantic football will travel to UTSA on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3:30 p.m. ET, as announced by the American Athletic Conference on Monday. The game versus the Roadrunners will air on ESPN+
 
The Owls are 3-1 all-time versus UTSA and will look to avenge a 36-10 loss a year ago in Boca Raton.

🔼 Milton’s Mandate. Florida Atlantic has announced that its women's soccer match on Thursday versus Rice has been postponed due to the forecast of inclement weather from Hurricane Milton.

The match has been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17, at the FAU Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
