FAU Men's Basketball season tickets have sold out for the second consecutive season

Good morning, Owls Family. Florida Atlantic Athletics announced Wednesday that it has sold out of men's basketball season tickets for the second consecutive season.

One of the nation's winningest programs over the last two seasons, the Owls have played before sold-out crowds at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena for 21 consecutive games. Under first-year head coach John Jakus, this streak will extend into 2024-25.

🔼 What Laundry? We’ve Got Clean Sheets. Florida Atlantic's women's soccer team recorded a 3-0 shutout of the Temple Owls on the road on Thursday evening.

The Owls improve to 3-9-4, 2-4-2 AAC after facing Temple on Thursday evening. This marked the second time these two teams have faced each other in program history. FAU now remains undefeated against Temple. Florida Atlantic also added another shutout to the season sheet, their fifth of the year. 

🔼 Stay Hot, Squad. Florida Atlantic volleyball kicks off a two-match road trip this weekend as they head to North Carolina to face off against the East Carolina Pirates tonight and the Charlotte 49ers on Sunday, Oct. 27. First serve tonight at East Carolina is set for 6 p.m. ET, while the Owls will close out the weekend on Sunday at Charlotte at 12 p.m. ET.

The Owls head into this weekend at 12-8 overall and 4-4 in AAC play. This past weekend, they had two of their best games of the season, sweeping second-ranked Rice 3-0 and knocking off previously unbeaten conference leader South Florida 3-1.


🔼  No Sad Sacks. Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books, with six former Florida Atlantic Owls seeing action.
 
#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals picked up a key 21-14 win over their AFC North rival Cleveland Browns thanks very much in part to Hendrickson’s successful pursuits to the quarterback, tying his career-high with five QB hits. For the second week in a row and third time on the year, Hendrickson notched a multi-sack game, moving him up to seven sacks total in the same amount of games this season, fourth in the entire NFL.

🔼  Ball’s In Our Court. The trio of student-athletes representing Florida Atlantic women's tennis in the first fall American Athletic Conference Championships got underway on Thursday in Houston on the campus of Rice University.
 
Victoria Gomez O'Hayon, the championship's No. 1 seed, dropped her first match after a fantastic showing at the ITA Southeast Regional. Newcomer and third-seed Malwina Rowinska fell in her opening round. She will team up with Millie-Mae Matthews this morning in doubles play.

🔼 Owl See You On Court. The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team split the roster with three participating in the first American Athletic Conference Individual Tennis Championship, hosted by Rice, and the remainder participating in a weather-moved Bedford Cup, played at Florida.
 
John Bernard captured his first match at the AAC Championship and will advance in the winner's bracket for a 10:30 a.m. Friday match. Jiri Jenicek captured his first match on a busy day for the grad student but fell in his second. Jenicek teamed with sophomore Simon Myslivec to win doubles match one and will return to the courts for a Friday 10 a.m. match.

🔼 Herman Head On. Florida Atlantic's Inside the Owls' Burrow airs tonight at 5:30 p.m. ET and tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.

On this edition, head football coach Tom Herman will talk with host and producer Frank Forte about the Owls' latest game at UTSA and look forward to the last five regular-season games. Featured this week is defensive back Wendol Philord in "Pads Off" and "Were Are They Now?" with defensive end Hunter Snyder.

🔼 That’s Isac With One “A”. Florida Atlantic's swimming and diving teams have earned their second weekly award for the men, third overall for the 2024-25 season. Freshman Isac Faxius has once again been named the ASUN Diver of the Week
 
Competing in his first ever home competition against Keiser on Friday, Faxius tallied second-place finishes in both the 1m and 3m diving, totaling scores of 305.10 and 328.35.
