🦉 And much, much more

🔼 Zero Giveaways. Florida Atlantic hosts Texas Southern on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Howard Schnellenberger Field at Flagler Credit Union Stadium, chasing a 4-1 start for the first time since 2020 and what would be the program's best non-conference record at 3-1. The Owls have won three straight without a single turnover, a first in team history, while Caden Veltkamp leads the nation in completions per game and two wideouts sit inside the top 25 in receiving yards. The ground game broke out for 234 yards at ULM, the most under the current staff, and the defense has held back-to-back opponents under 20 points while giving up just three second-half points over that stretch.

🔼 Owls in the NFL. James Pierre turned in a personal-best eight tackles as Minnesota moved to 3-0 with a road win over Tampa Bay, allowing just one catch for nine yards on three targets. Azeez Al-Shaair posted a team-high 11 stops for Houston, his second straight double-digit tackle game and the first time he's done that since 2024. Trey Hendrickson played a season-high 45 snaps and recorded two quarterback hits in Baltimore's last-second win over Dallas in Rio de Janeiro.

🔼 Clean Sheet. Florida Atlantic women's soccer blanked South Florida 3-0, getting goals from Hailey Santiago, Lola Hathorne, and Selena Gaytan. Hathorne also picked up an assist on the night. Lily Holden was busy in goal, turning away all six South Florida shots on target to preserve the shutout. Santiago led all players with six shot attempts.

🔼 New Year's Eve Tip. Florida Atlantic men's basketball’s 2026-27 American Conference slate is out, and the Owls open league play at home on Dec. 31 against Charlotte before heading to Tulsa and North Texas. The 18-game run splits evenly, nine at Abessinio Court at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena and nine on the road, with Memphis visiting Boca Raton on Jan. 10 and a Valentine's Day trip to Tulane. The regular season closes at home against UAB on March 7, and the American Championship follows in Tampa from March 10-14. Tip times haven't been announced yet.

🔼 Sixteen Nights In Paradise. Florida Atlantic women's basketball has its full 2026-27 slate, with 12 non-conference games ahead of an 18-game American Conference run. The Owls open Nov. 2 at Miami, then start a 16-game home schedule at Abessinio Court at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena that includes the Thanksgiving Classic (Nov. 27-28) and the Holiday Classic (Dec. 19-20). Road trips to Florida, FIU and UCF round out non-conference play before league action tips Dec. 30 against UTSA. The regular season ends at home against Temple on March 6, with the American Championship set for March 9-13 in Tampa. Times and TV are still to come.

📸 Owlflics of the Week. The Owls' photo roundup, presented by Baptist Health South Florida, leads with football's 45-17 road win at ULM, where a pair of wide receivers each cleared 100 receiving yards in the same game, the 12th such duo in program history. The gallery also catches a women's tennis freshman with her hardware from the Bedford Cup B singles flight, swimming and diving's home opener at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex, and two women's soccer shots from the Memphis and UAB matches.

Fans get their first look at the new group next Wednesday, Oct. 7, when the Owls open fall exhibition play at home against the Canadian Prospects with a 5 p.m. first pitch.

🔼 Fall Ball, Free Admission. Florida Atlantic baseball will play five exhibition games this fall, and every one at FAU Baseball Stadium is free and open to the public. The Owls open Oct. 7 against a team of Canadian Prospects and host Indian River State College on Oct. 17. A road trip to Miami follows on Oct. 31, with the fall closing out at home against Nova Southeastern on Nov. 13 and Lynn on Nov. 14.
