🔼 A Founding Father Gives Again. Howard Guggenheim, the first founding donor who helped bring Howard Schnellenberger and football to Florida Atlantic nearly three decades ago, has given the university a $1 million gift benefiting Athletics, the College of Business, the College of Medicine, and the Kurt and Marilyn Wallach Holocaust and Jewish Studies Building. The longtime Boca Raton resident has traveled with the team, mentored players on the practice field, and supported the football stadium over the years, and he remains closely connected to Owls football today. We’re grateful for 46 years of Howard calling FAU his hometown university.

🔼 Best Start In Years. The Owls come out of the bye at 4-1 with a four-game win streak, the longest since 2020, and 186 points through five games, more than any FAU team has scored to open a season. The 3-1 non-conference mark is the best in program history. Caden Veltkamp leads the American in completion percentage and completions per game, feeding a pair of Biletnikoff Watch List receivers in Kelby Valsin and Easton Messer. The defense has held three straight opponents under 20 points and surrendered just three second half points across that stretch. Army is up Saturday at noon on CBS Sports Network.

🔼 One To Watch. Leonard Farrow took the opening kickoff 98 yards to the house against Texas Southern, then ran his very next one back 92 yards, matching FAU’s entire program history of kick return touchdowns in a single quarter, before the offense ever took the field. That performance has landed him on the Jet Award Midseason Watch List, one of 18 players up for college football’s top return specialist honor.
Pet of the Game. Introducing the 2026 Nozzle Nolen Pest & Lawn Solutions Pet of the Game Contest. Get those “Pet Pics” ready and enter to win at www.fausports.com/pet!

🔼 Big Weekend in Paradise. Florida Atlantic volleyball opens a two-game homestand tonight at 6 p.m. against unbeaten Tulane on ESPN+, then hosts Charlotte on Sunday at 1 p.m. on FAUSports.com. The Owls ride a two-match winning streak into the weekend after back-to-back five-set road wins at Temple and East Carolina, while the Green Wave bring a 10-match streak and a 6-0 American Conference mark to Boca Raton. Friday is Youth Day with free volleyball sleeves while supplies last, and Sunday honors FAU faculty and staff.

🔼 Inside the Owls’ Burrow. Episode 9 of Inside the Owls’ Burrow is out, with Hagerty Family Head Coach Zach Kittley breaking down the bye week and the trip to West Point, Braden Cunningham mic’d up in “Wired for Sound,” Wilky Denaud taking the “Pads Off,” and a feature on Assistant Quarterbacks Coach Trent Vasey.
Kickoff Kid. Making memories of a lifetime at Flagler Credit Union Stadium! Enter your KID to be the Flagler Credit Union Kickoff Kid.
🔼 Catch Them Tomorrow. The Owls wrapped another intrasquad this week, and the next look at the 2027 club comes against Indian River State tomorrow. Free to get in, 2 p.m. first pitch, no reason not to go.

📸 This week’s Owlflics, presented by Baptist Health South Florida, catches the Owls mid-transition: Georgia Cousins and Selena Gaytan on the road trip that brought back all six points, and the rest of the frames from Paradise Madness with cheer, dance, and both basketball teams back on the floor.

🔼 Record Setters. Since Jordan Clark took over Florida Atlantic softball ahead of the 2023 season, the Owls have won back-to-back American Conference regular season titles, made consecutive NCAA Regionals, and rewritten the single-season record book in batting average, runs, doubles, RBI, and fielding percentage. Individual marks have fallen too, including Ainsley Lambert’s 11 saves and Chloe Yeatts’ 54 RBI in 2025. The Owls return for a nine-game fall exhibition slate starting Friday, Oct. 30, ahead of the regular season in February.
