Good Morning, FAU Family. FAU’s Josiah Parker was named the American Conference Preseason Freshman of the Year this week! The men’s basketball standout finished his high school career as a McDonald’s All-American at Combine Academy International. Parker and the Owls were ranked No. 6 in the conference preseason poll as a new season inches closer.

🔼 Hold Serve. FAU volleyball is on the road tonight to take on Charlotte at 6 p.m. before traveling to East Carolina for a matchup at noon on Sunday. Both games are slated to air on ESPN+. FAU brings a 12-5 record into the weekend road slate, including going 3-1 in conference play so far this season. Check out the full preview ahead of both matches.

🔼 No Place Like Home. The Owls got the game-winner from Ethan Schumaker late in the second half on Wednesday night to knock off Florida Gulf Coast, 2-1, and remain undefeated at home. FAU opened the scoring early when Matthew Alfred’s cross deflected off of FGCU for the score, but the Eagles tied the game just seconds later. That draw would hold until Schumaker’s winner in the 80th minute. FAU has now won four in a row and will host Memphis on Sunday evening at 7 p.m.

🔼 Inside The Owls’ Burrow. Season 10 Episode 9 of Inside The Owls’ Burrow is here! This edition features Frank Forte sitting down with Hagerty Family Football Coach Zach Kittley to recap last week’s win and preview Saturday’s clash with UAB. Linebacker Tyler Stolsky takes the “Pads Off” and the episode features former WR John Mitchell as part of the “Where Are They Now” segment. Don’t miss it!

🔼 Owls In The NFL. Week 5 is in the books in the NFL, and we’re taking a look at how some of our favorite Owls fared. Azeez Al-Shaair racked up four tackles and a pass breakup as the Houston Texans beat the Baltimore Ravens; fellow Texan Harrison Bryant made his second start of the season and hauled in his first catch of the year. Also in that game, Zaire Mitchell-Paden caught his first NFL reception for the Ravens.

Trey Hendrickson tallied his first multi-sack game of the season for the Cincinnati Bengals, including one that resulted in a forced fumble. Devin Singletary played a season-high 23 snaps for the Giants and rushed six times for 20 yards.

FAU basketball is almost here! The Owls held Media Day on Wednesday afternoon at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena with head coach John Jakus, guard Devin Vanterpool, and guard Josiah Parker.

The Owls will host an exhibition game on Thursday, Oct. 30 against Florida Tech before the regular season gets underway on Monday, Nov. 3.
