Good morning, Owls Family. The FAU MBB team will conclude their North Carolina road trip with a visit to Charlotte tonight before returning home to host UAB on Sunday, Jan. 12.
 
Coming off their first AAC win of the season, the Owls (8-7, 1-1 AAC) look to conclude their two games on the road with a 2-0 record following their matchup against the 49ers (7-8, 0-2 AAC). Tipping off tonight at 7 p.m. ET, the game will air on ESPN+.
 
At the Elly, FAU and UAB (8-7, 1-1 AAC) face off in a battle of the top two scoring teams in the conference. Tip-off is at 5 p.m., airing on ESPN.

🔼 Bases Are Loaded. Coming off a season in which they won the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in their first year of league play, the Florida Atlantic softball team continues to receive preseason recognition. 
 
As part of their conference preview, D1Softball has named five Owls in their preseason top 20 players, the most out of any team in the AAC. Junior third baseman Jesiana Mora is the highest ranked at number three, followed by junior pitcher Autumn Courtney (No. 5), sophomore shortstop Kiley Channell (No. 10), and senior pitchers Ainsley Lambert (No. 13) and Gabby Sacco (No. 15).

🔼 Owls v. Owls. Florida Atlantic women's basketball kicks off a two-game homestand tonight, hosting the Temple Owls for a midweek matchup. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.

Florida Atlantic enters this week's midweek matchup at 9-6 overall and 1-1 in American Athletic Conference play. The squad is also fresh off an impressive 16-point win over the East Carolina Pirates, 64-48.

🔼 It’s Just Tre’s Way. Redshirt junior forward Tre Carroll of the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team earned his third American Athletic Conference honor of the season, receiving an honorable mention for the week.
 
Carroll recorded his first start of his collegiate career in the victory over East Carolina on Sunday for the team's first conference win of the season. He led the team with 26 points on the week with 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and three steals.

🔼 Nothing But Net. Leading the Owls to a huge 16-point win over the East Carolina, Lovisa Asbrink Hose was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, and Mya Perry earned AAC Honorable Mention honors. The awards mark the Owls' sixth and seventh weekly awards, as well as the first career award for Asbrink Hose and the second for Perry.

🔼 Sacco Circle Success. Softball America has announced their 2025 preseason Top 100 players list, with senior pitcher Gabby Sacco of the Florida Atlantic softball team ranked at number 94. 
 
Sacco has been reliable in the circle for the Owls in her three seasons with the team, most recently in 2024 where she ended the year with a 3.38 ERA on the year with a 12-4 record, 55 strikeouts, five complete games and two shutouts. In 2023, Sacco was the Conference USA Pitcher of the Year, ranking 30th in the nation in ERA (1.61) and 37th in wins (19) while throwing 96 strikeouts and pitching FAU's first no-hitter since 2016.
