Paradise Brew 1/31: KyKy Couldn't Miss
FAU MBB's graduate guard, KyKy Tandy, scored 26 points, as the Owls took down the Roadrunners by a score of 94-74 on Thursday night.
Good morning, Owls Family. The FAU MBB team put forth one of their best offensive performances of the season, taking down UTSA by a score of 94-74 on Thursday night at the Elly. With the win, the Owls move to 11-10, 4-4 AAC.
Graduate guard KyKy Tandy has been one of the top shooters in the AAC and reached a new level with a career-high eight three-pointers, most by an Owl since 2019, with no misses coming in his last six attempts. His final numbers saw him score 26 points on 9-for-11 shooting, 8-for-10 on three-point attempts.

🔼 Jodi Smith Gets Her Flowers. Montreal Roses FC is one of six Canadian clubs that will participate in the inaugural season of Canada's first professional women's soccer league, and they recently announced former Owl Jodi Smith as a new addition to their team.
Smith graduated December 2024 from Florida Atlantic and will head to Montreal in the spring of 2025. Throughout her career at FAU, she played in 77 games and started in 76 of them. She was a part of the All-Conference USA Freshman Team, American Athletic Conference Second Team, and collected Defender of the Week honors.
🔼 No Rest For the Weary. The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team has a busy weekend ahead. They travel to Fort Myers, Florida, today (Friday, Jan. 31), to play Florida Gulf Coast University at 12 p.m ET, and then return home to host the University of North Florida tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 1), at 11 a.m.
FAU is coming off a successful weekend, earning a 4-0 victory over Minnesota last Sunday. The Owls swept doubles play and took singles play in a clinch format. Seniors Lexi Silna and Millie-Mae Matthews are undefeated in dual match play in singles matches and remain perfect in doubles play. Silna was also named AAC Player of the Week.
🔼 Will Travel For Tennis. The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team has its first road trip of the season, traveling to Gainesville, Florida, where they will face off against North Carolina Wilmington tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 1) at 12 p.m. ET.
The Owls hold a 3-0 record over UNC Wilmington. Their last matchup ended in a 4-0 Florida Atlantic victory.
🔼 For the Picker and Chooser. Single game tickets for Florida Atlantic softball's 29-game home schedule are now available. Single-game ticket prices vary depending on age and group size.
For their 2025 campaign, the reigning American Athletic Conference regular season champion Owls will host Ole Miss, Kansas, Clemson, Georgia State, Missouri State, Minnesota, Villanova, NC State, Dartmouth, and Louisville for the first two weekends as part of the Paradise Classic and Joan Joyce Classic.
🔼 Baba and More in the Burrow. Episode 22 of Florida Atlantic's Inside the Owls' Burrow airs tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET and again tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 1) at 11:30 a.m. The show originates on FanDuel Sports Network Florida and can also be viewed on fausports.com and YouTube.
Featured in this week's show, produced and hosted by Frank Forte, is the FAU softball team, who open their 2025 defense of the AAC regular-season title when the season opens on Feb. 6. Forte also takes a look at the women's tennis team, who have now opened their 2025 campaign and, as of Brew time, hold a 2-0 record. The show will also feature the swimming and diving teams' record setters. Finally, fans can look forward to another addition of "In the Paint" with men's basketball forward Baba Miller.
🔼 Tu-Little, Tu-Late Against Tulane. Florida Atlantic women's basketball fell on the road in New Orleans on Wednesday, dropping a 68-52 battle against the Tulane Green Wave inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.
The Owls fall to 9-13 on the season and 1-8 in AAC play, while Tulane moves to 13-7 and 6-3 in league play.
