Good morning, Owls Family. Entering the 2025 season, the FAU softball team has been ranked No. 2 in the AAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
The Owls are coming off their debut campaign in the AAC that saw them win the conference's regular season championship and ultimately qualify for the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2016. Florida Atlantic raced through conference play with a 21-6 record before clinching the conference title on Joan Joyce Field in their final regular season series.

🔼 You’ll Want In On This. Florida Atlantic has announced that a limited number of tickets are now on sale for Wednesday's men's basketball American Athletic Conference matchup versus UTSA at 7 p.m. at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.

🔼 That’s a Wrap. The 2024 Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs has concluded. Two players were on a participating team with one, Azeez Al-Shaair, seeing action:

- Al-Shaair's season came to a close in a 23-14 defeat against the two-time defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs. He led the team with six total tackles.
 
In total, former FAU players appeared in 111 games and made 41 starts in 2024. This season also saw the first former Owl in program history named as a first team All-Pro, thanks to Trey Hendrickson's historic season with a league-leading 17.5 sacks.

🔼 The Man On the Mound. Florida Atlantic sophomore pitcher Trey Beard has been named to the Perfect Game Preseason All-AAC Team. The lefty was one of four starting pitchers on the 16-man team.
 
Beard is expected to take on an increased role in his second season after a stellar debut campaign. In 2024, he was named to the AAC All-Freshman team after making 15 starts on the mound. He started in the AAC Tournament in an elimination game vs. UTSA and delivered five strong innings to earn the victory in the 12-5 win.

🔼 Making a Splash. The Florida Atlantic men's swimming and diving team has swept the ASUN swimming & diving weekly honors, announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. For the third time this season and fifth in his career, Trevor Kuhn has been named ASUN Diver of the Week, while senior Peyton Ming has been named the ASUN Swimmer of the Week.

🔼 Home Court Advantage. The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team will host No. 56 Clemson tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 25), at 11 a.m. ET at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
 
The Owls' dual match season started last Thursday when FAU hosted Miami for the first time in 25 meetings. The FAU duo of Simon Myslivec and Marek Pazdera recorded a victory in their doubles match over Miami. In singles play, John Bernard, Jan Kusy, and Pazdera all won their matches. Pazdera extends his record to 9-2 going into Saturday's match.

🔼 Perry’s Push Not Enough. A third-quarter rally wasn't enough as the Florida Atlantic Owls fell 75-68 against the Charlotte 49ers on Wednesday at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The Owls drop to 9-11 on the season and 1-6 in AAC play.

Four Owls registered double figures in the contest, led by Mya Perry and Stefanie Ingram. Perry finished with a game-high 16 points, shooting 33 percent (5-of-15) from the field, 33 percent (3-of-9) from beyond the arc, and 3-of-6 at the line, in addition to adding a team-high four steals, four rebounds, and three assists.
