FAU Athletics hosted the 10th annual Owlspys
Good morning, FAU Fam. Florida Atlantic Athletics hosted the 10th annual Owlspys on Monday evening.
Dressed to impress, the student-athletes were honored for their contribution to FAU Athletics' continued growth and success over a year that saw several NCAA Tournament appearances. 21 awards were given out throughout the evening.

🔼 Jumpin’ Jakus News Flash. Florida Atlantic Athletics has announced information on the upcoming 2024-25 men's basketball season ticket process. 2023-24 season ticket holders can renew today by clicking here or calling the ticket office at 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
An accomplished recruiter, Coach Jakus has helped Baylor land two top-five classes (three top-15 classes) over the last four seasons.
🔼 Panna-ramic. Florida Atlantic women's tennis, ranked No. 63 nationally, earned a No. 6 seed at the American Athletic Conference Championships scheduled for Wednesday, April 17 through Sunday, April 21. The Owls will open play on Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m. EST and will face the winner of Wednesday's match featuring No. 14 Temple and No. 11 UAB. Tallying an 11-match winning streak earlier this year, FAU is led by freshman Panna Bartha. Bartha holds a 14-5 singles record and is 11-7 in doubles action.
🔼 The Inaugural Run. The nationally ranked No. 45 Florida Atlantic men's tennis team will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a No. 3 seed for their first American Athletic Conference championship. The Owls will play a quarterfinal match on Friday, April 19, at 10 a.m. EST versus the winner of Thursday's first-round match between Temple (No. 11) and Charlotte (No. 6). The AAC championship is the first for the Owls.

🔼 Twice As Nice. For the second time this season, Florida Atlantic junior C/OF John Schroeder has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
Schroeder went 6-for-17 (.353) at the plate in four games last week with three home runs, seven RBI, and five runs scored. The switch hitter homered twice from the right side of the plate in Friday's 4-2 win over Wichita State and added another long ball from the left side in the middle game on Saturday.
🔼 A Series Split. Florida Atlantic baseball was held scoreless on just four hits in a 1-0 defeat to FIU on Tuesday night. It was the first time the Owls have been shut out this season. The South Florida neighbors split the season series 2-2.
🔼 Amber Waves Goodbye. The Florida Atlantic Owls' women's tennis team, ranked No. 58 nationally, recognized their lone senior and team captain Amber McGinnis before Monday's match. The Owls then gathered on court #4's sideline, where McGinnis closed out the match with a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3) win to give FAU the 6-1 victory over the visiting Hilltoppers.
With the win, the Owls improve to 12-7 on the year and will wait for tonight's American Athletic Conference Championship seeding announcement.
🔼 Par For the Course. Florida Atlantic women's golf moved up one spot to sixth place on Tuesday at the American Conference Championship. Freshman Charlotte Perkins (-4) remains in the mix for all-conference honors, tied for fifth individually. She is five shots off the individual lead held by Tulsa's Lovia Gunnar (-9). At one-under 70, this is her second consecutive under-par round.
🔼 Say Good Knight. Florida Atlantic softball (33-11) will travel north to Orlando to take on the Knights of Central Florida in a midweek matchup tonight. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. The Owls are 11-5 on the road going into this contest with UCF.
