Good morning. Let the madness begin. As the No. 8 seed in the East region, the Owls will take on No. 9 Northwestern at the Barclays Center. The game will be aired nationally on CBS, tipping off at 12:15pm ET.
 
This will be the seventh NCAA tournament game in FAU's history. They currently own a 4-2 record in such contests, thanks to a 2023 Final Four run that will be remembered forever as one of only five schools to ever make it to the Final Four despite not having a previous tournament win to their name entering the season.
 
But Florida Atlantic is writing a new chapter for the history books despite much of the same core, coaching staff, and fundamentals intact.

🔼 More Mother Nature Mandates. With inclement weather expected to roll through the area tonight, the start time for the series opener between Florida Atlantic baseball and Charlotte has been moved up. First pitch will now be 1pm ET. Start times for Saturday and Sunday's games will remain in place for the time being. For those unable to attend, all games will be streamed on ESPN+. 

🔼 Fri-Yay. Florida Atlantic Baseball will make its debut in the American Athletic Conference on Friday against a familiar opponent. The Charlotte 49ers are in town for the first league matchup of the season.

Join us for matinee baseball as we hand out a limited-edition trading card featuring junior catcher/outfielder John Schroeder. Going forward, a different Owls' player will be featured for every Sunday conference game at home.

🔼 Wet Your Whistle. Thursday's practice was long and difficult for the Florida Atlantic football team, which, despite fatigue, is pressing to play consistent one-play-at-a-time football.
 
"I see growth,” said Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach Charlie Frye. “That was practice five, so we have thrown a lot at them…The first two weeks of spring ball is a lot of information, a lot of new terms for a lot of the new guys, and then a chance for them on Saturday to put all those pieces together that we have installed and put the ball down and go scrimmage.”

🔼 Just Another Sandy Sweep. On Wednesday in Fort Myers, the No. 16-ranked Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team (12-7) secured a 5-0 sweep over PBA (9-12) and earned a 4-1 win against FGCU (10-10, 2-2 ASUN).

Next, the Sandy Owls will head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 29-30 as they compete in the LSU Death Volley Invitational.

🔼 Ballin’ in Memphis. The Owls softball team (23-7, 5-1 AAC) will travel to Memphis to take on the Tigers for the first time since 2017. The three-game series will begin on Friday, Mar. 22. First pitch is set for 7pm ET and will air on ESPN+. This meeting marks the second matchup between these two teams in program history. The first matchup was on Feb. 26, 2017, when the Owls won 5-0 in Boca Raton in a non-conference game. 

🔼 Mac’s Memory Musings. On National Memory Day, Coach Mac’s recollection of some of the biggest moments in program history was put to the test (plus a bonus story about Coach Mac getting tossed from a game twice). They also evaluate the first month of the season and preview what’s to come as the Owls make their American Conference debut this weekend.

🔼 Brandon and Brandin Burrow. Featured this week is Brandon Weatherspoon, a senior member of the Owls' basketball team. Florida Atlantic football has 30+ new players on the roster this spring, and the show will feature several of those newcomers. Men's soccer is completing spring practice, and we'll look ahead to year three in the AAC for Coach Joey Worthen's squad. Lastly, Inside the Owls' Burrow will visit with ex-Owl football star Brandin Bryant, who has just authored his first children's book.
