🔼 News on the Fly. The Florida Atlantic "Flygirls" dance team and co-ed cheerleading team capped off tremendous 2023-24 seasons with impressive performances at the NDA and NCA College Nationals.

The Owls cheer team, led by head coach Hector Escamilla, finished in second place in the Intermediate Small Coed D1A division. The Owls earned the ninth-highest score overall among 430 teams in all divisions and the sixth-highest score in the combined Intermediate Divisions. This continues an impressive two-year run, highlighted by the Owls' National Championship at the 2023 Nationals.

🔼 Going Out With a Bang. The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team concluded their first season in the American Athletic Conference with the third day of the AAC Outdoor Championship on Sunday. The competitors for the NCAA East Regional First Round will be announced on Thursday, May 16. The rest of the Owls will regroup for cross-country in August.

Thanks to strong runs from Jessica Lambert and Rosa Ten Berg, FAU finished the meet with 15 total points. Florida Atlantic was one of two teams to have multiple runners in the 800m finals. Lambert finished in fourth place with a time of 2:07.51. In the 5000m run, Elyssa Toal finished in the top half of competitors and recorded a new personal best in the process (17:58.39)

But even that bar has been raised by the Owls, who have recorded a minimum of a 3.1 GPA or above in the last five semesters.

"As the Owls continue to excel academically, I want to thank the academic staff and our coaches for embracing the culture of winning both on and off the field,” said Brian White, FAU's Vice President and Director of Athletics.

🔼 Owl Be Rooting For You. The Florida Atlantic softball team and AAC regular season champs head to Gainesville, Florida, today for the 2024 NCAA Regional for the first time since 2016.
