Good morning.  Florida Atlantic men's golf lapped the field at the Southern Invitational on Tuesday, earning its second team victory of the 2023-24 campaign. Leading the way was senior Max Sturdza, who captured the first individual win of his career after five previous runner-up finishes.

Entering the day with a two-shot lead, Sturdza was undeterred by a bogey at the second hole. He proceeded to birdie six straight from the fourth through the ninth to close the front nine in 30. The senior didn't let his foot off the gas on the back nine either, adding another birdie at 12 and closed with one last birdie at the par-five 18th. The birdie on 18 not only sealed Sturdza's first career victory; it clinched a bevy of program records.

🔼 Football ‘n’ Ladies Night Go Together Like….Well, You’ll See. Florida Atlantic's football team entered its second-to-last week of Spring Practice on Tuesday morning, with the 2024 Spring Game scheduled for Saturday, April 13, at noon. The team was put through its paces and game situations as they continued to compete for both starting positions as well as offense versus defense.

Join the Owls tonight, April 3, at 5pm ET for "Ladies Night." Taking place at the Schmidt Family Complex, the evening is scheduled to include educational sessions on offensive, defensive, and special teams strategies. Participants will have the opportunity to mingle with players, coaches, and fellow Lady Owl enthusiasts while going through light drills and competitions as well as refreshments. All proceeds, including the $100 registration fee, will benefit Florida Atlantic's football team. To register or for more details, go HERE.

🔼 EmiliOHYEAH. Florida Atlantic freshman Emilio Gonzalez has been named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Gonzalez finished 6-for-13 (.462) in the three-game series against Memphis. In Friday's 13-5 victory, he homered twice, doubled, and drove in three runs. He added another pair of RBI in Saturday's 14-3 win to clinch the series. For the season, the 6'3 product of Island Coast HS leads the Owls with 25 runs driven in.

🔼 Dub For FAU, Donut for Miami. Florida Atlantic baseball posted a 3-0 shutout victory over Miami on Tuesday night at home. The Owls have ensured themselves at least a share of the season series, which will shift to Coral Gables for the third game next Tuesday.

Brandon Smith was in control from the get-go, but the Owls' defense also played its part. Making his first start of the season, Smith struck out three and did not walk a batter in his five scoreless innings.

The Owls resume conference play at home on Friday against preseason AAC East Carolina. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

🔼 Steady as She Goes. Florida Atlantic women's golf moved into eighth place after two days at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate on Tuesday. 18 holes remain for Wednesday's final round.

• Freshman Charlotte Perkins and graduate senior Clemence Cadeac are each tied for 14th in the 104-player field.

• Cadeac moved up seven spots on Tuesday with a round of one-over 72. She finished with 15 pars, one birdie, and two bogeys.

• Despite a 75 on Tuesday, Perkins is still in the mix for her second Top 10 of the season.
