Max Sturdza becomes Florida Atlantic men's golfer to participate in an NCAA Regional
Good morning, FAU Family. Today, Max Sturdza will become the second Florida Atlantic men's golfer to participate in an NCAA Regional. The graduate senior earned an at-large bid to compete in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for a chance to advance to the NCAA National Championship.
Sturdza is a four-time all-conference selection and the owner of nearly every FAU men's golf record. His historic 2023-24 campaign was highlighted by his first individual victory at the Southern Invitational, where his final round 63 set the mark for the lowest round in program history.

🔼 Tickets Punched ✅. Florida Atlantic softball is NCAA-bound for the first time since 2016. On Selection Sunday, the Owls were awarded an at-large bid to the Gainesville Regional with a matchup set against South Alabama on Friday, May 17. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m. EST.
This will continue FAU's remarkable season in which they have amassed a 41-14 record and finished the regular season on top as co-champions of the American Athletic Conference.
🔼 Going Deep With the Veep. The memo begins: It's certainly been an exciting and historic last few months on our campus, and I want to first congratulate the nearly 90 Florida Atlantic student-athletes who earned their degrees during last week's commencement ceremonies.
These Owls were part of the university's largest graduating class in history, as a record 3,600 spring graduates joined more than 207,000 alumni who have graduated from FAU. I'm so proud that our student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom, as the department's overall spring semester GPA was an impressive 3.24. It marks our 18th consecutive semester above a 3.0 and now the fifth consecutive semester above a 3.1!

🔼 Some Highs, Some Lows. Florida Atlantic baseball won the first game of Saturday's doubleheader with Rice 6-5 before dropping the second game and the series finale 5-4.
Trey Beard was credited with the win in game one, improving to 3-3. Danny Trehey earned his sixth save of the season in game one. Braden Ostrander pitched a season-high 2.1 innings with one hit, one walk, and three strikeouts.
🔼 A Strong Finish. Florida Atlantic women's golf (+34) finished fifth at the National Golf Invitational on Sunday in Arizona. The Owls moved up two spots on the final day.
