🔼 Clemence and Crew at the True Blue. FAU women's golf will compete in the Golfweek Intercollegiate beginning today and ending Wednesday in Pawley's Island, S.C. This is the final event before the American Conference Championship begins on April 15. The 54-hole event takes place at the True Blue Course, which is a par 71 measuring out a 5,990 yards.

The Owls will use the same five from their last competitive event, exactly one month ago, the Gators Invitational. Clemence Cadeac led the squad in Gainesville with a tie for 15th. Cadeac has been the Owls' low scorer in all seven events this season, dating back to the fall.

🔼 In the Zone. Florida Atlantic's football team got in its final day of work before the holiday weekend on Friday morning. The Owls went through an extended individual work period and concluded with a steady rotation of first, second, and third team snaps. In attendance were several FAU football alumni to watch the continued growth of the program.

"We have seen growth; guys are competing hard,” said Offensive Coordinator Charlie Frye. “Today, we spent time in the low red area, guys flying around and trying to get the ball in the end zone. Then we had a great third-down period against the defense and then scrimmaged a little bit, so a lot of different situations showed off."

🔼 Winning in Memphis. Florida Atlantic baseball improved to 4-2 in the American Athletic Conference with a resounding 14-3 victory over Memphis on Saturday afternoon. The Owls got off to an inauspicious start in the bottom of the first but erupted for six runs in the top of the fifth to break the game open. Dawson Ball pitched a clean bottom of the ninth to finish it off.

The Owls will play four home games this week, starting with a visit from Miami on Tuesday night. Next weekend, No. 15 East Carolina visits Boca Raton in conference play.

🔼 Home Court High Note. Four Owls took to the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center courts for their final home contest, and four seniors concluded their final home match as 6-1 winners over the visiting DePaul. Seniors Alberto Colas and Juan Martin Jalif captured doubles court one by a 6-1 score, while the duo of John Bernard and Simon Myslivec captured court #3 to clinch a best-of-three format point.

"What a ride it has been with these four amazing seniors,” said FAU’s Director of Tennis Ricardo Gonzalez. “One of the most enjoyable and satisfying things about my job is to see how these boys continue to mature and develop into men.”

🔼 Pirates Leave Without the Booty. The No. 25 Florida Atlantic softball team (30-8, 10-2 AAC) took the series from the ECU Pirates on Saturday afternoon with a 6-5 comeback victory. With the win, the Owls improved their record to 30-8 and 10-2 in the American Athletic Conference. After this series, the Owls remain tied for first with North Texas in the standings.

The Owls will hit the road and face Charlotte on Friday, April 5. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.

🔼 Southern Hospitality on the Greens. Florida Atlantic men's golf will compete in the Southern Invitational today at The Falls Club in nearby Lake Worth, Florida. This tournament will serve as the final spring event before the American Conference Championship begins on April 19. Today's opening round will get underway with a shotgun start at 8:20 a.m. The second round will follow, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday.

The field this week is slightly smaller than normal, with eight teams and 48 individuals. The Owls are the highest-ranked team in the field, at No. 122 in the official Clippd Division I rankings.

🔼 Split Success.  Florida Atlantic's women's track & field team sent select runners to multiple meets over the weekend. The Owls participated in the 1500m in addition to the 3000m steeplechase as part of the Raleigh Relays on Friday, as well as the 1500m and 800m run in the Florida Relays on Friday and Saturday in Gainesville.

Jessica Lambert posted her season-best time in the 800m with a mark of 2:07.28. This ranks 39th in the nation. Leah Helms set a new personal record in the 1500m (4:48.56).

🔼 A Sandy Setback. The No. 17-ranked Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team (12-11, 2-2 CUSA) battled tough against the No. 6-ranked Cal Golden Bears (15-6, 0-0 PAC-12) and the No. 2-ranked UCLA Bruins (18-4, 1-0 PAC-12) but fell in a pair of 4-1 battles to close out play in the Death Volley Invitational on Saturday.

The Sandy Owls return to the Sunshine State next weekend for the Unconquered Invitational in Tallahassee, hosted by Florida State, on Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6.
