🔼 A Sweet Outcome at Sugar Beach. No. 3-seed Florida Atlantic beach volleyball punched its ticket to the CUSA Championship quarterfinals, earning a dominant 3-0 sweep against No. 6-seeded UTEP during the opening round on Thursday at Sugar Beach.

Florida Atlantic improves to 17-17 overall and 2-4 in CUSA play. The Sandy Owls will take on rival No. 2-seed FIU this morning, with first serve set for 9:30 a.m. EST.

🔼 Taking the Bull By the Horns. Florida Atlantic Softball hits the road to take on the Bulls for the first time in the American Athletic Conference. Game one of the three-game series is set for this afternoon, with the first pitch set for 4 p.m. EST. The series' last two games will take place on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28. The Owls improved their record (36-12, 16-5 AAC) after sweeping UTSA.             

🔼 Bull’s Eye. Florida Atlantic baseball begins a three-game series against USF tonight in Tampa. The Owls and the Bulls both enter the weekend at 7-8 in the AAC, part of a four-way tie for fourth in the conference. FAU and USF met in Boca Raton last season, where the Owls took two of three.

🔼 Relaying Important News. One last meet remains for Florida Atlantic's women's track & field team in the regular season: the East Coast Relays, hosted by the University of North Florida, beginning today. The two-day meet will mark a final tune-up before FAU participates in its first American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, which will take place in San Antonio, Texas, from Friday, May 10, through Sunday, May 12.
 
It has been a successful first year in the AAC for the Owls. Florida Atlantic is ranked No. 44 in the nation in the outdoor season's 800m, per the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, with an average time of 2:10.55.
