🔼 Game Won. Before we begin, we here at the Brew would like to experience even a fraction of the joy from Kodak Black running out of the tunnel this past weekend ahead of Florida Atlantic’s 42-20 win over Monmouth.

Now that that’s out of the way… lets break down the fireworks show game ⤵️

1️⃣ After senior running back Larry McCammon III punched in the opening score of the season with a six-yard touchdown, it was Casey Thompson’s time to shine as he threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to redshirt sophomore Tony Johnson

2️⃣ Right at the start of the second quarter, Casey Thompson found Larry McCammon III on a short pass on the right side of the field who then proceeded to slice and dice his way to the left for a 55-yard gain, leading to a two-yard touchdown pass to LaJohntay Wester.

3️⃣ Casey Thompson continued to spread the ball, soon finding Je'Quan Burton on a score to make it 28-7 towards the end of the first half.

4️⃣ The second half was all Owls' offense with plenty of highlight plays to go around. Thanks to a crafty spin move, Je’Quan Burton turned a short catch into a 35-yard touchdown with 6:59 to go in the third quarter.

5️⃣ On the next offensive drive, Casey Thompson used play-action to set up a 72-yard touchdown to Tony Johnson for a big-time score. That was all Florida Atlantic needed the rest of the way for a 42-20 final.

Up next? The Owls will get right back to work to prepare for Ohio. Kickoff will be at FAU Stadium next Saturday, September 9, beginning at 6:00pm ET on ESPN+
