🔼 Something For the Students. Florida Atlantic student football tickets are LIVE!
See you for the home opener on Sept. 7th:
🔼 Let’s Roll. Midfielder Sebastian Zettl and goalkeeper Nacho Alfaro have each been named to the American Conference men's soccer weekly honor roll.
Zettl scored both Owls' goals in Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Omaha. He gave the Owls a 1-0 advantage with a highlight reel-worthy strike from long distance in the 12th minute.
Alfaro recorded a clean sheet on Thursday against Creighton and stood tall again on Sunday versus Omaha. The graduate senior finished the two-game road trip with 11 saves.
🔼 Packed With Goodness. Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Tom Herman concluded Tuesday's practice by telling the Florida Atlantic players that what is important between now and Friday's 7 p.m. season opener at Michigan State is what they do and the decisions they make in the 22 hours outside of practice.
If their offseason is any indication, the players, led by captains Federico Maranges (OL), Jayden Williams (S), Cam Fancher (QB), and Jackson Ambush (LB), are making the right decisions on and off the field and are still making time to give back. One such example is a recent "backpack drive" where the players gathered to stuff backpacks and present them to Boca Helping Hands.
🔼 Bryant’s Books. Events such as the "backpack drive" directly reflect players modeling those surrounding the team. The Boca Helping Hands initiative was developed and organized by longtime Florida Atlantic supporter Danny More.
Another shining example for the team is a football staff member and former Owl defensive lineman Brandin Bryant, 2012-15, and NFL veteran, 2016-23. Bryant, who participated in the "backpack drive," used his time away from the game to exercise his creative side by writing children's books. Bryant's first book, "So, You Want to Be an Athlete," was released last January 16th. His next book, "Can I Pet That Dog?" has an official launch party scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28th, at the Ethel M. Gordon Oakland Park Library, located at 1298 NE 37th Street, Oakland Park, Florida 33334.
🔼 Rosado on the Radar. Florida Atlantic volleyball was selected to finish fifth in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, and senior outside hitter Valeria Rosado was named to the AAC Preseason All-Conference Team.
The Owls enter their second season in the AAC after posting the program's seventh all-time 20-win season, finishing second in the AAC East with a 20-13 record in 2023.
Rosado is one of five AAC preseason honorees to receive a unanimous selection. The honor also marks the first preseason accolade.
The Owls will kick off the 2024 season this weekend as they host the Florida Atlantic Invitational at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on Friday & Saturday, Aug. 30-31, welcoming Bryant, Seton Hall, and Ball State.
🔼 Heart of De Leon. After concluding her playing career with the Florida Atlantic softball team in 2024, Katelynn De Leon will remain with the Owls as an assistant coach, as announced by Head Coach Jordan Clark.
De Leon made 35 starts as a catcher for FAU and earned a spot on the All-AAC Team for an Owls team that won 41 games and the American Athletic Conference regular season conference championship.
🔼 Where Home is Paradise. We welcome you back HOME:
Florida Atlantic Homecoming—Oct. 24 - Nov. 2. Let’s make this a time to remember.
🔼 Grin and Beer It. Florida Atlantic has partnered with Islamorada Beverages to launch Paradise Lager, the official craft beer of the Owls. The beer will debut in athletics venues, including FAU Stadium, and be sold in select retail locations across the tri-county area in the coming weeks.
Islamorada shares a profound connection with Florida Atlantic University as three of its four founders are proud alumni, including president Tyrone Bradley, along with Chris Trentine, and Whitney Trentine.
