Both hailing from Orlando and having worn #8 in their final season with the Owls, Anderson and Burton became the 61st and 62nd FAU players to extend their playing careers at the professional level. Lewis was the 63rd FAU player to do so. They will join 10 former Owls currently under contract and vying for a 2024 NFL roster spot.

🔼 Finish Line in Sight. The Florida Atlantic women's Track & Field team wrapped up the final day of the UNF Invitational on Saturday. Entering the week ranked No. 44 in the nation in the 800m, FAU again impressed. In a field of 81 runners, Jessica Lambert placed third (2:08.10) and Rosa Ten Berg finished seventh (2:09.93).

The Owls can now focus on the outdoor American Athletic Conference Championships, which will take place in San Antonio from Friday, May 10, to Sunday, May 12.

🔼 Sun Sets on Sandy Owls…For Now. The No. 3-seed Florida Atlantic Sandy Owls fell just short of playing for the CUSA Championship, falling in a hard-fought 3-2 battle against the No. 5-seed Tulane Green Wave in the CUSA Championship semifinals on Saturday at Sugar Beach. Ashleigh Adams and Julie Honzovicova gave the Sandy Owls their first point of the day, capturing a straight-set win against Tulane's top pair, Trinity Jackson and Molly Trodd, 21-16, 21-12.

🔼 It’s a Go For Women’s Golf. Florida Atlantic women's golf has accepted an invitation to the second annual National Golf Invitational (NGI), which will take place May 10-12 in Maricopa, Arizona. Similar to basketball's NIT tournament, the NGI will feature the best golf teams from across the country that did not receive a bid to NCAA Regionals.

The NGI was contested for the first time in 2023. This year, Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, located just south of Phoenix, will play host to a three-day, 54-hole stroke play event. The field is yet to be finalized but will include a maximum of 18 teams.

🔼 Strengthening the Squad. Florida Atlantic Owls' women's tennis team, ranked No. 68 nationally, welcomes the addition of Lara Smejkal to the 2024-25 squad.

Smejkal, a current FAU student, joins the squad after compiling an impressive tennis resume. She joins a team coming off its ninth winning season in the last ten years, a year in which the Owls tallied the most consecutive wins in program history. FAU lost just one player to graduation and is poised to return five of the six singles positions.

🔼 Bull’d Over. The Florida Atlantic softball team ended the weekend with a series victory against South Florida on Sunday afternoon after defeating the Bulls by a score of 6-2. With the win, the Owls move to 38-13 overall and 18-6 in the American Athletic Conference. Florida Atlantic is tied for first in the AAC standings.

🔼 Easy Like a Sunday Afternoon. A three-run home run by Carter Brady proved to be the difference in Florida Atlantic baseball's 6-3 win over USF on Sunday. The win was the Owls' first Sunday road victory of the season and pulled them into fourth place in the log-jammed AAC standings.

The Owls close out a five-game road stretch tomorrow in Gainesville against Florida. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. They return to Boca Raton to host UAB in conference play on Friday.
