🔼 Pitch Perfect. For the second time this season, FAU men's soccer claimed 50% of the AAC Weekly Awards. Victor Claudel was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Rotem Fadida earned the nod as Goalkeeper of the Week. Noah Kvifte was also named to the league's weekly honor roll.

Claudel scored the Owls' first goal on Friday in the 2-1 win over No. 14 FIU and later provided the second assist on the eventual game-winner by Kvifte early in the second half. Claudel now leads the Owls with 15 points – five goals and five assists. This is his first AAC Player of the Week award. He has previously been named to the weekly honor roll on three separate occasions.

Fadida made four saves in the win to hold off the late FIU comeback attempt. The senior leads the American in total saves and saves per game. He's played every minute of every game in goal for the Owls – a total of nearly 1,200 minutes, which also leads the AAC. This is Fadida's first Goalkeeper of the Week award.

Kvifte earned a spot on the weekly honor roll for the first time after his highlight reel-worthy goal early in the second half, which turned out to be the eventual game-winner. The Norwegian leads the Owls with six goals and is second with 13 points.

Florida Atlantic men's soccer returns to the pitch for senior night on Tuesday. The Owls will step out of league play to battle Florida Gulf Coast at 7pm ET. The AAC regular-season finale is November 1 at USF.

Some more headlines to keep you in the know ⬇️

🔼 She’s a Keeper. Another day, another soccer accolade. For the second time this season, senior Lexi Gonzalez has been named the American Athletic Conference women's soccer goalkeeper player of the week. Midfielder Sofia Voldby landed on the top five AAC weekly honor roll for the second time this season. The Halmstead, Sweden native scored the winning goal against Rice in the 77th minute of the match.

With the win over Rice, the Owls clinched their spot in the 2023 AAC Championship tournament. The last game of the regular season will take place in Tampa, Fla., as they will face the Bulls on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00pm ET.

🔼 That Friday Feeling. The Florida Atlantic University football team (3-4, 2-1 AAC) will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina for a 7:30 p.m. Friday night matchup against host Charlotte (2-5, 1-2 AAC). The game will air on ESPN2.

While a Friday game might seem unusual, it’s not completely new for the FAU football team. The Owls first played a Friday game in 2007 at the New Orleans Bowl versus Memphis. FAU would not play another until 2015, when FAU hosted Miami. Newly hired head coach Lane Kiffin welcomed Navy for the 2017 season opener and later played both UCF and LA Tech in 2018 on a Friday. 2019 was another year for two Friday night games facing Marshall and saw the Owls play two Friday night games. The Owls faced Marshall on a Friday in 2019 and played two in 2020, the first versus FIU, and the second was a late-added contest versus UMass.

Following Charlotte, the Owls will hit the road again for a matchup against UAB. The game time has been announced and is set for a 2pm ET kickoff.
